New visa rules for Tourist visa residents

Just got back from my bi-monthly trip to laos, while there picking up my passport I noticed a new stamp they had put in my passport, IT says:

    quote:

Holder of this pasport has visited thailand too many times as a tourist and may be refused a visa next time.

Just another nail in the thailand coffin I guess, taksin doesnt want ferangs on tourist visas living here, well fu.. him

Nope, for non imm "O" no money in the bank is needed unless you want to go for a yearly visa.

Oh, well, it wouldn't matter then for me since I believe Americans can get 90 day visas regardless. I had thought I read wrong about the 1 year visa.

non Immigrant O is ALWAYS 1 year visa, with 3 months stay each unless you ask for the 1900 THB extension every 3 months if you are too lazy to leave Thailand

and you need 400,000 THB even for non-immigrant O, but they are more flexible in Pattaya I was told. Overseas Consulate ask for it anyway.

Non Imm "O" multi entry is valid for 1 year, ie you can come and go as you please for one year and stay for up to 3 months each time, you can even pay the extra 1,900baht for an extra month after your 3 months, or you can go for your yearly if you are married or have dependants and have either the dosh in the bank or an income, but why the fok get a 5k baht multi entry if you qualify for a yearly? just get a single non imm "O" and then apply for your yearly.

A single non imm "O" is valid for 3 months, you can then extend it for another month for 1,900baht, or you can then apply for a yearly visa if you are married or a pensioner or have dependants or have a regular income or the dosh in the bank.

DD I have been on single entry non O for the last 4 years (non O single entry's valid for a year but the holder must do 90 day reporting). Never done 90 days reporting and never had any problem extending them.

Single-entry and multiple-entry visas are valid for three months and for one year respectively.

A single Non "O" is valid for 3 months on entry and then you can either extend it for another month or you can apply for a yearly visa using that single entry depending on your circumstances, the single entry needs to be utilised within 6 months.

A multi entry will allow you to enter any amount of times you want to visit Thailand for a period of 12 months, each time you will get 3 months on arrival and can also extend for one month, or you can also if your situation is correct turn it into a yearly visa, you can also turn up on the 11 month and 29th day and get 3 months on arrival which then you can get a one month extension or apply for a yearly visa.

    Hang on.
I am talking about how long you have before the visa expires.
I am not talking about how long you can stay in Thailand.

The thing that immigration stamp in your passport is NOT a visa.
Immigration cannot issue or extend a visa
A visa can only be issued by an embassy or consulate

I am lost here DD, you sound very confusing

if it's yearly already, why do you need to make a yearly visa ???

Multi is 1 year and it cost 150 Euros while the single entry is 3 months and cost 75 Euros

I think the 1 year is cheaper all things considered
