C'mon, we all know BO has an almost zero Senate voting record. His whole campaign is based on gaga star appeal and his "I voted against the Iraq war" vote, which he spins over and over like a techno DJ. He will raise taxes and I am still wondering where he will get the funds for all his lovely programs to help the black ghetto folk and to fund his stupid healthcare plan and his Afghanistan war effort. Let's ask Chitown how Chicago has done under his rule as IL senator.
At least McCain has a sensible political party behind him -- America is NOT a bladdy socialist or nanny state; it is built on folks building businesses, and it supports them even when their businesses succeed. Fek the unions and the Euro socialist ideals. Kudos to BO tho in attracting such adoration abroad.

^ Ah, isn't that nice. Look at me, I got it right and you didn't. Ya. Unfortunately, BO will maybe win and screw up the country with his indecisions and social programs that will make lazy people even lazier and force hard workers to pay for them. And then, BO won't wanna anger people or make a boo-boo so he'll just not make a decision right now or for manana.

apparently all federal income tax goes towards paying off the national debt, none of it goes towards any type of service whatsoever so as it stands, wealthy Americans (not to be confused with hard workers) are simply paying for more bombs.

The folly of all this is look how the Bush administration has left the USA, compared to the Clinton years. Yet a rational person is meant to panic at the prospect of a Democratic admin, but be comforted at the prospect of another Republican admin.

Boy, talk about a Tough Sell.

This sensible party has managed, in less than 8 short years, to bring the US economy (business) to it's knees and alienate most of it's allies through it's lack of judgment and foresight. Come on Jettie, take off the partisan blinders, look around you and tell me how wonderful things are in the US under the GWB Republican administration.

Yes it's all very cartoonish in some respects. The Dems are supposed to be the party of increased taxes when the objective facts ('Read my lips, no new taxes') make it clear it's not the case at all.

Further a policy of not raising taxes coupled with an out of control deficit is needless to say a ridiculous policy which will only lead to further economic problems. The republicans are quick to spend big money on their military adventures but reluctant to go to the public and raise taxes needed to support the spending. Wonder why?

^ Big business generates way more tax revenue than workers, Norts. Even if corp.'s tax rate is only 35%, that's a fek of a lot of money on multi-mil gross income.

Always some of those around. Why should taxpayers pay for mums who just lazed around and had babies? Sure, the women/men who lost spouses or jobs for reasons beyond their control, yes, guv help should be there. Don't see it in Thailand, tho, do you, and they survive.

Firstly France isn't a "nanny state", secondly the French have higher levels of health, more leisure time and general well-being than their US counterparts. Why's that such a terrifying prospect?

Oh, really? One of the most socialist states in Europe, innit? I beg to differ with your views, Ant, but show me your stats. And what's the tax rate and social mores there now?

How does that work? You're the one claiming it's a "nanny state" and therefore, apparently by extentsion, something to avoid.

It's a matter of record that French people are healthier (any WHO report) and that not only the French but Europeans in general have more holiday/vacation time than American workers (NationMaster).

Why are some people so seemingly irrationally afraid of that? On an admittedly basic level it's like saying: 'Oh we can't have increased healthcare and holidays, that's socialist!!!'

I think the add is brilliant. Along with being funny it portrays considerable truth pertaining to Barrack Hussein Obama.

Maybe that's why it stings my liberal terrorist sympathizing friends.

What does "healthier" bodies have to do with bladdy taxes and the socialist state, Ant? And healthier than who? Veering away from the issue again. What about those ghetto folks and their kids who torch cars every night. Are they healthier and supported by the state?

Veering away from the issue?? Jet, it was you who raised the issue of France being a "nanny state":

"You want a nanny state down there? France revisited."

Clearly, to you, this is something undesirable and to be avoided. I merely pointed out a few objective facts about this so-called "nanny state"; namely that the French are on the whole healthier and work less/have more leisure time than their US contemporaries. So why wouldn't you want that? Because of some vauge, outmoded and outdated notion that it's 'socialist' and therefore sounds a bit like "communist" [insert shrieks and cries of terror here].

One almost feels like subjecting the USA to another four years of minime-Bush, but of course a vocal minority always squeals when entrapped (quixotically, in a morass of their own making). Not fair to judge the nation by it.

It's the peoples vote obviously. I've always had the opinion that, in a Democracy at least, the people get the government they deserve. It's going to be an entertaining few months.
