Not sure how this came about but I agree with you that a good place to look for the right answer is at any option disliked by both sides. And you almost got that bit right as well, except in this case it's no deal not Ref2, since exit has already been decided.

Now I shall devote myself to further study into that theory of monkeys and keyboards.

I think Ref1 definitely triggered the worst our leaders had to offer; it was disorganised, dirty, more divisive than a national vote should be, and was eventually won with a small though legitimate margin by the side presenting the better set of lies. This does not justify a rerun, any more than an election should be rerun because the successful candidate presented a better set of lies than their opponent.

Japan is seeking tougher concessions from Britain in trade talks than it secured from the EU, while negotiations between London and Tokyo are also being slowed by the looming risk of no-deal Brexit.

Japanese trade negotiators are confident they can extract better terms, the Financial Times reported, in a sign of the mounting difficulties facing UK officials as they attempt to line up post-Brexit trade deals around the world.
    Who would have thunked it....

So not only has the UK failed to secure any of the fantastic new trade deals that were promised by Brexiters ....the current deals are being devalued because everyone knows the UK is a laughing stock and desperate with no leverage.

...but, dont worry, the brexiteers will be along soon to reassure us the EU will fold soon if the UK holds their nerve and how it's the EU is on the verge of economic collapse.

A controversial no-deal Brexit ferry contract awarded to a firm with no ships has been cancelled by the Department for Transport.

The decision by the transport secretary, Chris Grayling, to award Seaborne Freight a contract worth £13.8m had attracted widespread criticism and ridicule.

It was one of three firms awarded contracts totalling £108m in late December to lay on additional crossings from Ramsgate to ease the pressure on Dover when Britain leaves the EU, despite the company having never run a Channel service.
What an utter shambles this Tory government are, awarding a ferry contract to a company with no ships and having never run a ferry service?

This might be the most incompetent government in the history of the UK, although the Thatcher era government are a hot contender for that title.

^ Good news that the contract was withdrawn. Chris Grayling is totally incompetent, much like the rest of the current government. If he doesn't resign then he should be sacked.

The Guardian is reporting that 250 companies are moving across the channel to Holland in order to keep a foothold in Europe. Even the BBC is considering a setup in Brussels to allow it to broadcast to EU countries.

I also hear the Tories are outraged at Tusk thinking that they decided on leaving the EU without a plan. Lots of history rewriting going on to defend their leave stance. Rees-Mogg up to his usual lies and deceit.

You should know by now that it's not true, unless it's reported in The Sun as well.

That is excellent news Troy. Where they belong, just take overpaid cvunt like Gary Lineker with them and don't fukin darken the UKs doors again with their bias money wasting....pip pip. The EU is used to paying for a load of hangers on so a few more won't matter.

Sounds like you are blaming me personally for achieving our goal.

Im happy to accept your blessing, but to modest to claim the victory on my own behalf.

This MP and her committee are probably as close as you will get to a polite version of the truth.

Oops, I forgot you can’t read or understand plain English. My bad.

^^^ The story has reached The Mirror, The Independent, France24, Dutch Press but not The DM, DT or Express yet.

Not sure where you got lizard people from, too much Dr Who?

The PM and most of the cabinet should be replaced by MPs that have the country and not party as their priority and can think objectively as well as have the confidence to hold cross party discussions.

You won't be passing any selection board, that's for sure.

It seems the lazy French have woken up from their 3 hour lunch break, with a little more than a Gallic shrug.

You only ever post your opinion, and try to pass it off as fact. That’s easy to interpret. You are a muppet.

Troy is angry because his birth country can’t afford his skill set. TBH if I had the choice of living in U.K. or Germany, I would choose Germany ....... after the EU breaks up.

I once worked with a French exchange worker. He was assistant environment manager on the Central Massif.

He was most put out to find he was required to bring a flask and sandwiches to work, and consume them in a leaky old land rover while sheltering from the rain.

Not in the least jealous. He admitted that he learned more about karst upland management in his six month exchange, than he did in six years in France. Very nice bloke.
