Good bet that indictments are coming soon for:

    Don Jr.
    Jared Kushner
    Mike Pence
    Jerome Corsi
    Roger Stone

Of course Individual-1 will pardon them all and then the shit hits the fan.

The Steele Dossier is worth reading again now after Cohen has admitted to working on the Trump Tower deal and we know more about the people involved in the Mueller investigation.

If no time to read it again, just read the last two pages. Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck!

Do you think Pence is complicit? I thought he was just dragged into it late in the game and has since been firmly placed in the back seat.
There's talk now, from a Republican (I'll try to find the NZ Herald article) of a veiled threat to Trump that if he misuses the power of giving pardons, a serious debate will ensue to limit the presidential power. Pardons are for extraordinary circumstances, not presidential favour.
I think that debate should have been launched straight after the Joe Arpaio travesty.

No, sorry, just had a look at NZ Herald and can't find the article.

Depends on what he knew about Flynn and when he knew it and what others may have told him and what they have testified to under oath.

An author and conspiracy theorist who says he’s being threatened with indictment by special counsel Robert Mueller’s team in the Trump-Russia probe filed a federal lawsuit Sunday night accusing Mueller of constitutional violations and leaking grand jury secrets.

Jerome Corsi’s new suit against Mueller also accuses the special prosecutor of trying to badger Corsi into giving false testimony that he served as a conduit between Wikileaks found Julian Assange and Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to then-candidate Donald Trump.
“Defendant Mueller and his prosecutorial staff have demanded that Plaintiff Corsi falsely testify that he acted as a liaison between Roger Stone and WikiLeaks leader Julian Assange concerning the public release of emails downloaded from the DNC’s servers,” the complaint says.

Haven't been following that aspect and the Corsi stuff very closely but aren't there actually emails (oh the irony!) by and between he and Stone suggesting exactly that??

Remember Corsi was an "Infowars correspondent".

This suit will end up in the gary glitter where it belongs.

And hopefully he'll end up trying not to drop soap in the prison shower.

Yes, but he insists he got the information about Assange and Hillary's e-mails from a dream he had while flying to Italy.

So apparently the Russian spy has now agreed to co-operate with the Feds.

Alleged Russian spy Maria Butina — who is accused of trying to broker a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump — has reached a plea agreement in federal court that includes her cooperating with “any ongoing investigations.”

Butina will plead guilty to conspiracy for working with Republican operative Paul Erickson and a Russian official to establish unofficial lines of communication between US politicians and the Kremlin, according to ABC News.

The agreement, signed on Saturday, carries a maximum sentence of 5 years — although Butina could get a more lenient penalty for her cooperation, the network said.

It was not clear in which investigation Butina might serve as a cooperating witness. Erikson, also her former boyfriend, is being probed by feds.

Butina regularly appeared at GOP events and asked then-candidate Trump a question about sanctions with Russia in 2015 at an event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Things not going well in Trump World are they. And the New Year brings a Dem controlled House so it's not going to get any better either.

Donald Trump Will Resign Presidency With 10 Minutes Left in Term So Mike Pence Can Pardon Him, Conservative Columnist Predicts

In the wake of Robert Mueller's release of key court filings in the Russia probe on Friday, conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin said Sunday that President Donald Trump would pull an unusual last-minute move to protect himself from potential legal action.“I would predict here on MSNBC that when Trump leaves office he will resign the presidency 10 minutes before Mike Pence leaves office, allowing Pence to pardon him if there is not a Republican president to follow him,” Rubin told the network’s AM Joy program.

The columnist was commenting on the possibility that the Department of Justice would indict Trump after he leaves office.

She also blasted remarks from Senator Rand Paul, who earlier questioned whether Trump had broken any laws over plans to build a hotel in Russia on NBC’s Meet the Press.

“I don’t see what’s illegal about trying to build a hotel in Russia. This is pretty common and I see no problem with it,” Paul said. “Now if you’re asking and saying I will give you something in exchange for letting us build a hotel, that would be wrong, but I haven’t heard any evidence of that.”

Rubin called the comments “shameful,” saying: “I think there was a $50 million penthouse, if I remember it correctly, that was going to be offered to Vladimir Putin.

“The president has been implicated in a crime. If Rand Paul wants to say Republicans are no longer in favor of holding the president to the same standard of law we hold ordinary citizens, that is his right. But I think this kind of wilful ignorance...really is beneath someone who is in the United States Senate.”

Agreeing with fellow panellist and Post op-ed writer E. J. Dionne, Rubin also said Democrats would have a moral obligation to try to impeach Trump if evidence emerged he had committed an impeachable offense. But she also said making such a move would be “politically unwise.”

“You wouldn’t be able to remove him, and it would infuriate a good chunk of the American people,” Rubin said. “So what do you do if you really are caught in that position where there’s overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing, of criminal wrongdoing?”

Rubin and Dionne appeared on the show with Michelle Bernard, president of the Bernard Center for Women, Politics and Public Policy. Post opinion writer Jonathan Capehart guest hosted the show.

^I don’t think Pence will ever become President. He seems to be caught in the scandal also. He has already been caught lying about Mike Flynn. It was Paul Manafort’s idea to bring Pence on as VP.

Not that I'm trying to defend him -- I think he's a dangerously backwards religious nutjob -- but wasn't that just a case of him repeating unknowingly the lies Flynn had told him?

There is a current supreme court case to decide if someone who has been processed for federal charges can face them again at state level (akin to "double jeopardy).

I don't think you'll see anything happen before SCOTUS rules on that.

^^^ Perhaps I’m just too hopeful.

Flynn’s sentencing memo said the Trump transition team was heavily involved in Flynn’s dealings with Russia. Pence was the head of the transition team so it’s impossible to believe he was kept out of the loop and didn’t know anything. Also, Pence said Flynn was as clean as a whistle on national tv even after he had been officially informed Flynn had committed perjury. He was covering for Flynn.

Moscow ready to release correspondence with US on alleged Russian election meddling

Russia is prepared to declassify all correspondences with the US related to alleged meddling in the American presidential election in 2016, according to a senior official of the Cyber Threats Response Center.

“We are ready to make public all correspondence if the US side gives its consent to it,” Nikolai Murashov, deputy director of the FSB-run CTRC, told reporters on Tuesday. These files are now classified, he said.

Washington’s cooperation in probing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hacking attacks was limited, the official said. Moscow had only received a number of messages “containing technical information about the hack,” Murashov explained.

Russian cyber security experts examined it even before Donald Trump’s inauguration. “An exhaustive response was then sent to the American side.”

The US, for its part, is reluctant to collaborate with Russia on ensuring the security of cyberspace, he said, adding Washington “unilaterally blocked” bilateral efforts.

Almost two years ago, the DNC case spearheaded claims that the Kremlin had a hand in the 2016 election – an allegation that Moscow has called ‘ridiculous’.

Assaults on computer networks frequently make headlines around the world, with Russia being a convenient suspect, Murashov said. However, claims that Moscow is meddling in other countries’ affairs “are never substantiated by reliable technical data that could be analyzed by experts.”

In the meantime, Russia itself is a constant target of such attacks launched from abroad. The center, which was set up by the FSB earlier this year, recorded over four billion attempts to disrupt Russian computer networks and servers, it has been revealed.

One such attack took place two days before the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi with the intrusion coming from the US, Canada, Thailand and Malaysia. “Early in the morning on February 5 the Olympic Games’ servers were subjected to massive computer attacks,” Murashov said.

The hackers managed to create a “global bot network” that included over 100,000 computers hijacked by the malware all around the world.
