On what are you basing that? He lost the popular vote and barely eked out an electoral college victory. With who is he going to pickup votes? For him to win solidly as you are implying he will have to find new supporters. If Bernie Sanders would have won the primary he would have trounced Trump in the general.

^Basing it on absolutely nothing other than my feelings. I know you're a huge Bernie fan, but that really doesn't factor into it at this point. I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

^ Ok fair enough. We will have a better idea of how things are going to play out in 2020 after November.

^Very true. I could well be wrong, having just read another article on Clinton, who simply NEVER stops whining. I can understand voters opting for ANYTHING BUT HILLARY....which is what they got. I don't really follow US politics but, from what I've seen, I don't see any major challengers as yet. Just political scum, and more of the same ilk.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson could beat Trump at this point in time and if he ran with Oprah, one as P and one as VP (doesn't matter which), they'd be a shoe-in.

it's worth remembering that clinton lost the electoral college because of the outcome in 3 states: michigan, wisconsin and pennylvania...by a total of 80,000 votes....and that's not 80,000 in each state...it's the total for all three.....80,000 people fit into a football stadium....a smarter campaign run by a better candidate (biden, for example) would have won those states.

anyway, the trump voters were fired up in 2016 for two reasons...they loved the trump TV persona and they hated hillary.

in 2020 there will be fewer republicans fired up because their lives haven't improved (an in many cases worsened) and the dems aren't going to run hillary. no matter who it is that gets the dem nomination, there won't be as many people who go to the polls specifically to vote against him/her as there were for hillary.

don't discount 'trump fatigue' on the part of his voters just like there was 'obama fatigue' for those who voted for obama in 2008 and didn't in 2012...and then there's the demographics which grow in the dems favor every single day....and in 2020 it's the dem voters who are going to be fired up.

predicting national elections more than 2 years away is a fool's errand BUT....right now i'd make a small wager that the dems will have control of both houses of congress and the presidency on jan 20, 2021.

i don't think he should....he'll be 79 on election day....he got screwed in 2016, but it's too late.

he should choose someone younger who shares his beliefs to guide and mentor.

If you are right about that and I hope you are. It will be payback time for many.

The Trump administration said on Friday that it had separated 1,995 children from parents facing criminal prosecution for unlawfully crossing the border over a six-week period that ended last month, as President Trump sought to shift blame for the widely criticized practice that has become the signature policy of his aggressive immigration agenda.”
the trumpo's argument for this is 'Obama started it'.....pretty sure he did ACA and the Iran deal too........tarded numpties all of 'em

In today's news... Trump has lied, again, to try to cover for his own previous lies:

    So yeah he lied. Again.

"The people of Germany are turning against their leadership as migration is rocking the already tenuous Berlin coalition.
    "
Nah...Trump never said that, or else he copied those words from someone else.
Trump, if he felt that, would have worded it somewhat differently.
"The Germans, they're nice people, smart people, and they're sick of Merkel, she's bad on migration and her government is in trouble because of it. Dumb moves by Merkel, dumb."

Putting children in cages and the rise of the right wing. I am both disgusted and more than slightly worried by the way the world seems to be heading. The phrase 'history repeats itself' has never seemed more apt.

I posted this in the Space News thread ...

    • Mr Trump said he wants a 'Space Force' to stop China and Russia' from leading the US
    • But, the international Outer Space Treaty bars the stationing of weapons of mass destruction in space
    • Mr Trump also signed a directive on the management of traffic and debris in space

"It is not enough to merely have an American presence in space. We must have American dominance in space," Mr Trump said
before a meeting of his National Space Council.

"We are going to have the Air Force and we're going to have the 'Space Force.' Separate but equal," he said later.
"It is going to be something. So important."

The United States, however, is a member of the Outer Space Treaty, which bars the stationing of weapons of mass destruction
in space and only allows for the use of the moon and other celestial bodies for peaceful purposes.

In his first term he had a huge burden of dealing with all the shit left over from Bush. He also had a hostile and unhelpful Congress and Senate.

    Latest from Drumpfland:

He's now referring the illegals as 'infesting' the US in his latest less-than-veiled racist dog whistle to his supporters and in another attempt to lie, twist and distort his own administrations policy as being the fault of the Dems as he attempts to literally hold kids hostage to get funding to build the wall he said Mexico would pay for.

    So, just another day then...

And Obama IS a Muslim and not a US citizen.
That's enough to pin every despicable act of Trump onto the Dems.
