Hello. My wife and I are interested in renting a house in Khanom. We have spent some time there looking but not found much... We are wondering if anyone in the area know of any beach houses for rent. We have been in Phuket for seven years and now find it too busy. Ideally we are looking for a two bedroom house on the beach with 10 metres to the next house (don't want to open a window and be able to reach out and touch a neighbour!). If the ideal house is not available we will consider anything. We would rent for at least a year starting anywhere between 15 June and 15 October 2013. Thank-you in advance for any help you have to offer.

@Necron: Thank-you. That house was one of the reasons we took a road-trip to Khanom. Nice house, well laid-out, on the beach... BUT it is an 8 house development and if you open a window you could read the small print of your neighbours newspaper... too close for comfort! Also some other potential financial issues with that particular development but I cannot post links as I'm too newbie!

@pseudo and to others: Thank-you for the real estate/forum links but I have them all book-marked already and check daily. I am looking for some local input - feet-on-the-ground, eyes open kinda thing. A local owner who has a friend who has a rental... an owner who needs a renter while they return home for a period of time... Thai-style fine, doesn't need to be western-friendly!
