hi guys,
anybody recommend a good internet shop in korat where i can send some e-tickets from england to thailand.
the wife wants me to pay for the tickets for her and the two kids in thailand, but i can save 5- 600 sterling buying them in the uk, however i have to send them by email to thailand.
or if any one is in korat with internet if they would be willing then maybe i could send them via a member here.
i will be buying the tickets for a return to the uk scheduled for early sept.
she lives in bunglee which is about 10 mins from the mall and has transport to pick them up.
she also does not trust thai business men [ wonder why ]
got the quote from kayak.com two adult tickets and one child £1060.0
to purchase from thai airways one way to the uk bht85,000 although that is non stop the uk price is with jordan airways with a three hour stop over.

Will you be paying in the UK by credit card?

yes
paying by debit card to kayak.com who seem to be british based.
never worked out why a ticket fom thailand to england one way purchased in thailand, has always has been more expensive than buying a return ticket, enland to thailand and back purchased in the uk.

I would check with the carrier that you can send them the tickets from the UK before booking them. I looked into doing the same thing for my wife by credit card (might be different for debit cards, not sure) but the cardholder/card has to be shown at check in in Thailand.

If you cant pay by debit you'll have to go to the airlines UK office and pay in cash.

Also there might be problems if youre planning on buying UK-BKK BKK-UK and using the BKK-UK leg first.

i am only buying the tickets one way and that is from bangkok to heathrow.

No worries, I would check the Singapore Air site. They had some decent deals when I booked my flight back with my son a few weeks back. I ended up with Qatar.

She gets to BKK check in and they wanted to see the credit card!

Joy phones me in the UK and puts the check in girl on the phone.

I give my credit card number etc. and she gives Joy a boarding pass.

A tedious and unnecessary bit of bull shit but it's the way they play the game.

Be prepared.

Definitely. Theyll take your money quite happily or without knowing what you plan to do then you could end up with a problem. You might not be so lucky and get some jobsworth who wont issue the passes.

Absolutely. Fortunately Joy had photocopies of letters from me and family supporting her case. She also had a return ticket. Without out this she could have had major probs.

IMHO blind 'em with paper work. Loads of letters from family and friends attesting to the fact that they're all multi millionaires and she/they are covered for all eventualities. Plus, a return ticket and maybe a photocopy of the credit card that was used to buy the ticket.

they stipulate one adult can travel with only one child so i have to pay for two adults.
i have just tried singapore airways for the tickets 45.000bht for three tickets on thier web site, but no answer by phone until tommorow am, closed on sunday in the uk.

wifey has the ILR on her passport, however i will have to make it clear to put her maiden name on the ticket and not her married name as she is using her thai passport.
when travelling with the kids she has to take our marriage certificate and the little ones birth certificate along wth a lot of explaining to the thai immigration as to the difference in names etc.
