I wish you luck but the best you are going to get is "good". Not very pricey lowers the odds even more. Do your best to reinforce your children's English at home. I did it for my twins as the EP program they were in for M1 and 2 was fair at best.
For me the biggest problem was no history nor world geography are taught at all in the Thai school system. I find this shocking.
With good home tutoring there is a decent chance for a scholarship into an international school at high school age. But only those in Bangkok are good enough.
Thailand spends a lot of money per kid on education, sadly most of the money never makes it down to the schools. A good education here means spending money IMHO.
Schools are a business and they'll buy the cheapest package available. As long as a Thai kid can come home and sound as if they speak English then the parents are happy. They're none the wiser.
And why do they call it the English Program when it's American English?

Shocking and common, unfortunately.
Some students receive their only formal exposure to these subjects at the university level. Quite amazing.
Curious. As history/historiography is applied to Thai students, what sort of historic content would you wish to be instilled, AO?
You should study world history and world geography. Geography would be the most important. Thai students dont even know where their Asean neighbors are located, let alone any other nation in the world.
My kids use to go before moving back to Oz, was around 50k a term per child.
I found them good to deal with and my kids preferred this school. The teachers had less retard in them compared to matinedoll or what ever it was called.
Both my kids now doing very well in Australia, in schooling and sports. I wouldn't wanted to have left it any later than Around the 10 years old to get them into a better educational environment.
I friend sent me this....
KaenNakhon Wittayalai School. They only have M1s for now. The EP program here is new!
I am living in KK muang, the city.
Heaps to choose from, most are garbage.
The most expensive is kkvs and i rate it as above. 94 a term.
I have moved my 10 yr old to a thai school with an english program, 56k per term.
Only 9 in the class, new us teacher from hong kong, previous posting.
The teacher is enthusiastic, i hope he doesn,t burn out.
Thai education for the most part sucks.
Pm me if you want some info on the school
Cheers,
Terry
Hi there, about EP schools in KK, do you recommend me Wittayayon school or Demonstration school (Satit) please ?
Hi Terry
Interesting you think KKVS is garbage, I went to visit and seemed ok to me and now my daughter is keen too.
I was planning to send my daughter there for P4 in May with a view to improving her English since they follow Cambridge English Program.
She's currently she's in a Thai school in the city and I'm not happy with it.
Can you recommend a better alternative ?
Hi b19bry,
Could you tell me the name of the thai school you aren't happy with and why please ?
Hi Dubois,
Holy Redeemer.
My wife chose it as she thought it one of the best thai schools in KK city.
The curriculum is thai and english tuition is poor, hardly any staff speak english.
KKVS told me half their tuition is in english by native english speakers.
