I have bookmarked this link, I hope to retire to KK in the next few years, first I just have to sell a couple of houses in Pattaya, earn a shedload of money and build a house to retire to
Is there a upper age limit on playing golf as all of the above seem to be taking a lot longer than planned!

Don't worry, the group have an 80 year guy who plays regularly. He does however, use a buggy in order to complete the 18 holes which is of course a form of cheating. He has been warned on several occasions concerning his outrageous behaviour but being 80 his memory isn't that good.

The vast majority of players in the group are seniors in golfing terms, (50 years +) and great days out.

''A bad day on the golf course still beats a good day at work!''

Good luck with your retirement plans Airportwo.

OK it's got Golf, but what's the nightlife like?

I know our group prefers somewhere with a bit of *cough* "entertainment".

My friends tell me that there are a few entertainment venue's in close proximity of the Pullman Hotel (formerly Sofitel) Harry. Most farangs tend to gather in this particular area.

There are also Thai nightclubs/hotels close by that also operate a ladies stage show (10pm onwards) although i have yet to frequent these establishments.

Nothing on a large scale catering for those in search of a wee bit of slap and tickle i'm afraid although as i'm not a resident of KK, there may be some taxi drivers that know different.

^ What is it like playing golf when Sonkrahn is on, do golfers get splashed on the green?

^Don't know about Nong Khai, but in Pattaya where Songkran insanity reigns supreme it's no problem. It's actually a great time to be playing, the courses are pretty much deserted.

The best and most famous venue in Nong Khai is the " The Alamo Bar"
Great views of the Mekong valley and a charming warm atmosphere offering something different and authentic.
