I did the trip a few years ago, there is a mini bus service that we took that runs from Surin bus station to the border via Prasat. It stops at Prasat to pickup/offload. Once at the border there are drivers with there own cars who will take you to Siam Reap. I used one of the touts at the border to assist me with the crossing and negotiations with the driver. I gave him 100 baht for his help. I think I paid about 2500 to 3000 baht one way. It was in Toyota sedan and the roads were horrendous, I did my back from bouncing around in the car. We got the driver's phone number and called him when we returned a few days later. Overall it was an easy and interesting trip.

    Surin to Siem Reap

Osmach to Siem Reap by taxi is about 500 Baht per person, if the Taxi has 4 or more people, if not, you can negotiate between 1,000 - 1,500, would not pay more

The road is very good, Osmack to Siem Reap is about 170 km, it is about 120 km to the main highway (Poipet - Siam Reap) and 50 km to Siam Reap

The next border (forget name, Sisaket area) also has a good road, about 140 km to Siem Reap, the good thing with this road is that you travel along the road that passes the temples, normally you would have to pay to go into the temple area, you can stop outside the temples and take photos, can probably pay some money and go inside

This road takes you into Siem Reap, again there are taxis, but not as many as Osmach

It is recommended that you get to the border as soon as the border opens
