For its role I think the GW is a good bike, I remember 10 yrs or so ago on the way to CM bike week, punting our bikes along at a respectable pace and FVCK ! a GW blasts past with his ol lady on the back, he must have been doing around 200+KPH. we upped the pace and stayed with him just, he didn't do a bad job in the bends either.
Would rather have one of those than a 'arley any day.
My admiration for BM's grew on that trip after we went to Mae Hong Son, I was in a group on a ZZR 1100, one rider had one of those ugly things that Mr Early rides, couldn't keep up with him, in fact he could get ahead and stop take some photos and catch us up again. It was all in the suspenders (and he was a good riders) but while our sport / touring bikes were skipping all over the rough road the GS just tracked, straight and true with the suspension soaking up all the bumps.
Ahh, the last bike I owned was a Gold Wing, happy days.
Thats got to be the uglys bike I have looked at in long timeOriginally Posted by mrsquirrel

Has anybody tried a ZX12R ??? it's suposed to be longer than the Suzi, and more comfortable on longer trips....any input ??
Had a couple of them (00 & 05), I don't know about being more comfortable than the busa, its got more leg room, seat isn't quite as good though or is the wind protection. I like its raw kawa Characteristics better tho, it bloody fast and handles well, even tho' its the same front brake set up as the same as Busa it doesn't fade as badly.
Downside is that the rear tire is hard to get and about 25% more expensive than the Busa's 190. The steep power curve seems to be harder on the tire than Busa, couldn't get more than 3,500 Kms out of one. Bloody thirsty when pushed, I had a 5L V8 thats was more economical.
Nice bike but expensive to run, although you pick them up dirt cheap.
i got a god pic of a goldwing for those who have not seen one and i canot figure out how to add it
like there is no options to add pic's?
mcc
I will be looking around, gotta find something and it wont be a GW.....But one problem is that I have to buy the bike in one place, because the guy there ows me 120K...Originally Posted by peterpan
Reminds me slightly of the Sunbeam S7 motorcycle, first produced in England nearly 60 years ago. Obviously not anywhere near as powerful as these modern machines, but it did have an inline twin cylinder overhead cam engine, complete with shaft drive. A massively strong and heavy 'springer' frame, the front and rear wheels were interchangeable, it even had a tax disc holder cast into the headlamp bracket, as well as spare bulb holders in it's main toolbox. Not a fast machine, nor particularly nimble, it was however, an extremely comfortable touring machine, that was unfortunately spoilt by BSA, when they took over the company.
Its all wrong! How can the company that built the undeniably beautiful CB 750 K1 have produced such an ugly bike at about the same era?
