When green plants arose they poisoned earth's atmosphere with their toxic waste: oxygen. This toxic waste paved the way for the evolution of animals. What if green plants had banded together to limit their production of oxygen or devised a way to sequester it in mineral form? Oooops. No animals. No mammals. No humans.

Theres a Guy who has been walking up and down Oxford street in London , wears glsses looks like a clean version of Balderick with a plaquerd that says " The End is Nigh " for at least 30 years that I can remember !!! Sooner or later he might be proven correct for Fksssssssssssssss sake !

Number one's a non-starter but there is a fourth option: Peak oil may very well precipitate such a shitstorm that 'civilization' just won't be able to organise itself to dig carbon out of the ground in sufficient quantities to push climate change from being plain bad to being full-on planetary-scale disaster. This is probably the best option all round but failing this, I'm going to go with number 2 as the most likely.
