This part of Legian is vehicle free and makes great walking. Has direct access to the beach.

Quite a few high end hotels along this stretch guarded by the Security guys. These two affable men had eaten all the left over pies.

Behind those doors hides a brilliant little intimate hotel with cracking gardens and big rooms for around $100 a night. Well worth it as its fronts directly onto the beach.
On first appearances one would think this guy has just been attacked by a mad man wielding a machete but on closer inspection I discovered he was holding his very young baby and just checking out the morning surf.
The owner of this surf school had been to Thailand one would surmise.
Moving right along and heading back into the action.
In all my trips I've stayed at Sanur once, Bit to small for me and doesn't serve my wander lust to well.
At this time of the year its shit as the prevailing winds are blowing directly on shore plus the beach is crap. Full of high end hotels, I tend to like my associating with commoners and local punters.

The locals make good use of there motor bikes.

Ketut is a very common Balinese name, both men and women use it. This Ketut just happens to be a Doctor.
Terry, I highly reccomend Made's Warung in Seminyak for good, cheap local food. And they usually have traditional dancing etc as well.

I asked this guy if I could put his picture on the Internet. Judging by his reaction he was in favor. I was his best mate after that.
The average Balinese do anything they can to scrape out a living and they learned long ago to compromise. This is brilliant and I'm sure this guy is a close associate of Fred Flintstone and Barny Rubble.
A lat pull down machine in its purest form and achieving the same results as a top end gym. You gotta love these people.
Behind this image was a very expensive private gym but our friend on the beach had it wired. I'll work out with him no probs what so ever.
Another happy punter.
Morning walk over and fronting up for breakfast.
