You've met us so I don't understand how you needed to figure out who we are?

Anytime you want, I'm up for a beer.

I have definitely experienced more quality meals when I get outside of Thailand than I ever did in my earlier years when fast food ruled my life.

My personal feeling about food is that I enjoy a good meal as often as possible, but I don't think about it all the time. I have had a few quality meals in Bangkok, but it is difficult to find something like that throughout Thailand.
It feels like Bangkok is a long way behind the curve regarding healthy food. Most seems to be fried or full of palm oil. As for white rice, it's shit. Little better than eating a plate of sugar. At least products like riceberry are starting to make inroads.

But there are some quality restaurants sprinkled around Bangkok where you can find a quality meal, but I live in the NE and do not get down there that often.

I think it's odd that in supermarkets at the take out food counters, portions of Thai real jasmine rice (kao suay) are nowhere to be seen, ditto many food courts.
The rice on offer is often that crap. Not as bad as the dirt cheap foodstalls, where that real shit is served.

Isn't it their national rice? Sad that I have to buy portions at 7-11 for 15 baht.
And no, I don't bother with a rice cooker at home. Forever having to clean it with half a portion left in from the day before.

I think about mopping my floors now just as much as food, as I get older
