Best Sandwich Place in Thailand Poll

I think I am getting the hang of this poll stuff. Here is another one. Vote on what you think is the best sandwich place in Thailand!

I voted other because to me its not really a poll-able answer and you wasted 3 votes by putting in Burger King, Subway and Mc Donalds on there.

For me there is no one stop shop here for sandwiches, I go to different places for the type of sandwich I want.

Au Bon Pain - Steak & Swiss Cheese

Black Swan - Roast Beef & Horse Radish, Roast Pork & Apple, Bacon Sandwich

Roadhouse BBQ - Beef Brisket, Philly Cheese, Sausage Sandwich, Pulled Pork

Landmark Deli - Something a bit gourmet on a nice foccacia.

Beirut - Beef or Lamb Shawarma

Bread/Cafe Tartine - Beef & Blue (beef burgunion)

Central Chidlom Super Market - A nice Smoked Salmon sandwich with Chiabatta

Los Cabos - Big as your Face Burrito

Starbucks - Surprisingly does a very nice Oriental Duck with Plum Sauce

Kuppa (Suk Soi 16) - Virginia Ham & Monterey Jack Baguette

Tamarind - If I fancy something vegetarian

I'm yet to try Dean & Delucas but I've promised myself I'll get there in the next week.

Agree, the poll makes no sense. That's why only 7 people voted.

The one I've been to is on Silom next to KFC and Subway just next to Sala Daeng Station, but I heard on the radio yesterday that they have another location in Ploenchit Center.

edit: but I normally have it delivered from chef xp.

I think Subway is by far the best when you really get down to it.

Not pulled, but I got propositioned coming out of the toilets by the gay manager.

    It's a common customer complaint.

Shit Poll from a Shit Poster, didn't even get enough votes to start prattling on with his usual agenda here.

I also love Beirut by the way

    Just kidding TFP.
Actually I think I know one or two people you associate(d) with.
Had an invite when you had your anniversary do upstairs 2 years back.
Same mate also wanted me to join your pool league. (he still wears the shirt your place made with his initials ebroided on it when out on the piss in town!)
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

Great list with some good ideas.......many places I have not even tried, including the Roadhouse BBQ! That sounds good but wonder if it really is.

Forgot to add that I agree Subway, Burger King and McDonald's are shit food (assume that is what you meant).

I put them on the list because some people actually believe they are good, even better than places like Dukes.

Hard to believe, but true.....probably same people who think Sunrise Taco Trots serves better Mexican food than Tacos and Salsa.

If we did an actual (unbiased) poll, say 100 people who actually know what good sandwiches and good Mexican food are like, both Subway and Sunrise Tacos would lose big time.

Unfortunately, here, way too many people don't know anything about food and are biased for some strange reason I still have not figured out (friendship with owners?).

So, you can't really take the results of any poll seriously. That is too bad because this thread is supposed to inform people about food in Thailand.

FP, you seem informed! Thanks for your post.

It's quite good, but pricey. The manager is a bit of a dick though.

What's there to know about food? If it taste nice. I eat it. If it tastes shit I don't (depending on hunger).
Everyone has a different palate and enjoy different things.

They cater to a specific clientele and all are hugely successful.
Nobody would pretend that the food at a fast food joint is as good as a full service restaurant. They cater to people on the run, students, people with kids etc. who want something quick and predictable. Life is full of choices and no one is twisting anybody's arm to eat someplace which does not suit their needs.

I don't like the re-constituted / processed meat they put in their sarnies. All the chain stores are doing this now. Cheap bastards.

I voted for Subway because it is a fine dining experience. I try to eat there every day if I can.
