Was running a seminar in Bangkok in 1997 for 30 European Insurance execs and we had a Traditional English Roast dinner booked at the Duset Thani. 3 hours before we were due to get there they called and told me that as HM The King was going there to present some award or other, they had to cancel our booking . In 3 hours Bobbys had rearranged their tables- organised live music and served up one of the best roast dinners the assorted mob of 30 people had ever had ! What a pity it has changed so much .

| I have been frequenting a relatively new Bangkok pub on Soi 23 across from Chokchai Steak House. It is named Crossbar , 3 or 4 flatscreen TV's, newly furnished. Has a kitchen and a really good fresh ground cheeseburger/Hamburger. Best I have had in Thailand. |

| I was in BKK the other week and had a "medium" breakfast at the Robin Hood. 280bt after tax that they add on.2 poxy sized sausages,2 eggs, bacon that tasted like it was smoked with plastic, fried tomato, beans, toast and tea. The toast was the best part.Didnt even have brown sauce.Never again I could have walked out quite easy without paying which I felt like doing after being served such a shitty breakfast for nearly a fiver.Im honest and didnt but if the staff are more concerned with changing the TV channel for some guy who wanders in with a briefcase trying to look important then I guess some people do just walk out. | I you need a good brekky, try the Soi 22 (diner) sort of place, its down on the RH side just past where Soi 20 joins into 22. The Big lady there does a kick ass English brekky. Surroundings don't meet Londoner standards but value for money, hard to beat. Good Bangers, excellent home fries, even good coffee. I always thought The Londoner was pretty crap anyway for anything, although some of the girls that work there are "nice" Edit: Old age, ain't it a bastard, I read Mels post and thought he was talking about the Londoner, and its Robin Hood, probably the most disgusting place in Bangkok. |

| There were flyers in the Robin Hood for a meet Stephen Hendry (snooker bod) night. Must be trying to drum up new trade. Its not going to draw me back again. Try value for money and service if youre reading |

| Interesting to see that old post, just moved to Bangkok and went to the Robin Hood, 1.5 months ago. The manager was doing nothing, and some lady in a blue shirt was standing behind the bar for 3 hours not moving ! Went back last week and there was a new Manager, let's hope it improves, cause it seems a nice place. |

I prefer to watch rugby at Wall Street on Soi 33 - happy hour prices are 90 or 95 baht a bottle. Sadly, I've got to meet up with that Pikey kunt Zehner this afternoon, so I'll not be there.

It needs a miracle, not a new manager.
