    Jomtien Restaurant - Surf Kitchen

Well I decided to have a quick breakfast in Jomtien this morning, at the time of morning I was up there aren't many Jomtien restaurants open and I couldn't be bothered going to Pattaya, so Surf kitchen was the lucky restaurant.

Now this isn't up to the standards of places like Jomtien Boathouse or Bruno's, nor is it in that sort of price range, just about everything on the menu is less than 300baht and the menu is a ridiculous 100 pages long, well, at a wild guess it seemed that long, also handy if you happen to be a Russian tourist as it is in Russian aswell.

They do all the normal Thai meals plus a large selection of Italian, German and French dishes so obviously I went for the spaghetti, pretty good for 99baht and comes with garlic bread, albeit one piece without much garlic taste to it, who needs garlic breath at 8am though.

Nice wooden furniture in the restaurant, outside for smokers and inside air con for reformed smokers.

Yes, they do hamburgers and sandwiches, from the photos on the menu I would say the bread is Thai made so would probably be a bit disappointing.

My spaghetti, not too bad and comes with the grated cheese.

Looks alright. Can't ask for much better than that for 99baht surely.

(Not including a shawarma from Beruit in bkk of course)

Looks bloody awful, most likely one of the frozen spag bols from the 7/11 just slopped on a plate.

    Me mock.....

    With the greatest respect,

the sauce is meant to flavour the pasta. As such, the pasta is the thing that matters.

    Huge bowls of pasta,

Good sauce to flavour the pasta.

    The pasta is God.

    Hi JJ,

I do agree with you about Pasta, however we have found that most Thai customers and quite a few Westerners feel that a lot of pasta and a little sauce = being stingy and that it does not represent good value hence the sauce to pasta ratio that we serve.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Good man. I fully understand where you're coming from.

The majority fail to understand the splendour of pasta.

Still, I'll try to to call you before I come and give you time to prepare the right stuff.

Alternatively, if you can get up my neck of the woods It'd be my pleasure to serve you a Matriciana or maybe Al tonno.

Any time. Just give us a call.
