    Laem Charoen Seafood

We started with New Zealand mussels done Thai-style with Thai basil, ginger, garlic, etc: succulent little devils. Our rice was khao phad poo accompanied by black pepper shrimp, kale and a whole soy sauce-marinated deep-fried sea bass. As usual at this eatery, everything was well prepared and efficiently served. Checkbin=B1900 with 2 Heineken and one water. Highly recommended, this place is definitely included on our monthly rotation.

There is one at Central Festival here in Chiang Mai. Lovely seafood. Usually a queue to get in the place on the weekends, though.

Looks great. Whenever i go to bangkok i enevitably end up at a somboon seafood restaurant. They have 4 or 5 branches in bangers now. Usually start with there curry crab. Fucking awesome not particularly expensive either. Took her indoors there the last time and was planning a romantic dinner followed by me going caveman on her ass. But no. Sadly we both ate so much we just went back to the loom and conked out. Oh well. Next time.

The food is pretty good at somboon, but surely it's about as 'romantic' as MBK food court.

My wife loves this place and is a frequent flyer, i'm not a massive seafood fan but perfectly happy to give it a go, the Emquartier branch is quite nice too, as is the one at Paradise Park

I love seafood, thanks for the recommendation.

I ate at the Bangkok Bistro Riverfront Restaurant on the riverwalk a few years ago.

Nice at night as it is on the chao phraya river.. see the boats go by lit up at night.

My favourite seafood restaurant in Thailand is Preecha located on the coast in Sattahip.

Great fresh food, very fairly priced and overlooking the gulf of Thailand.

Just get there early as the place is frequently booked out.

...a tourist trap with questionable and expensive offerings: to be avoided...better to eat elsewhere and walk along the riverfront to take the air...

Well you never like what I like, but that's okay. I was being treated by a resident of Bangkok, and I wasn't paying. I thought the venue very romantic and enjoyable after a ride along the river.

Good selection, the khao pat poo looks particularly well done, for what is quite an ordinary dish. Cheers Tom.

ahh.. well the food was okay, but a little too spicy for my liking. I don't even know what was it it, but it was really spicy hot.
