Anybody has experience with potato planting?

I have yes .
I got some potato seeds, dug a hole and buried them .
Watered them sometimes , then dug them up a few months later and made some french fries out of them

Yes, but he failed (so he said in his OP). But from that thread it seems that Troy has succeeded, but he gave little information about it.

Thanks to all advisers. I will try with few pieces.

Easier to propagate asparagus successfully then potatoes - says in jest.

I've tried with very little success. So many insects in the soil here.

Try planting in loose rice straw or leaf mulch.
