These guys are traveling thieves who just select certain targets in an area and blitz them before moving on. A wall, or anything else, won't deter them.
The more security you have the more interested is the burglar IMO.

Given the size of your property sounds a wise and cost effective conclusion.

Economically speaking the expense of the fence isn't worth it, but then there is the emotional nuisance factor... some of the fokers wouldn't even greet me as they walked in to help themselves.
Remembering one of your very first posts on TD I think they are coming to take back what was once theirs.

It is a bit off the theme now..
I have not made a question about the possibilities how somebody thinks to come onto my turf and for what purpose.
I had (before I had dogs) in Pattaya 2 that just broke the Lock and tried to steal my PCX. As I came out of my backdoor one tried to hold me back while the other was still working on the lock of the bike.
A queue of my pool table did the job broke some arms various time and even left one for almost 3 weeks with a complete cracked scull in Coma.
Short, I went out of control as I faced such an audactiy, just continue the theft and try to hold an 120Kg Rigger with a stupid grin on the face back.
My wife later told me it was on one point well done but also very stupid if they would have used a gun.
That's why I have dogs now.

We have cleared the question in this post partial and many recommendations about retaining walls came.
I NEED a wall, that's for sure, I had already villagers coming with nets and wanted to empty my pond.
In this case I told them friendly and pollite, I have just put some fish in my pond and they cannot fish here, they have to leave.
and with a friendly smile they left, situation cleared as long I am there. I have seen them passing by and looking over but I bought a hood for my brother in law and he is taking care now and during the construction of the wall and house.
I understand the Thai culture and very much like it but there are points like: neighbors that just come witout saying even hello or asking and take your entire fish and fruits with a purpose to sell them on the market without asking.. are some examples that are a bit much for the good.

My wife was in Germany and when my parents got visitors she has seen how the hospitallity works there.
Ring the door bell, sit down, yek yek, get unrequested a cup of tea and some cookies and leave again.
She found this a very good behaviour. after 13 years Thailand I actually appreciate when my visitor comes into my Kitchen, takes a or a few beer and sitz down talking, or helps him/herself with a bowl of soup. Makes me a good mind that he/she is feeling well im my house and is not on bordered to me as farang. But taking the fridge on a fork lift has nothing to do with Thai hospitality, hasn't it?

    so back to the theme:

what would be now the best and also cost efficient solution..
-I am still in mind about 2.10 m wall (marine plywood is 2.10m used as mould without cutting)
-my wife with her 1.30m wall, barb wire/bougainvilla vines (omg,420m hedge clipping) and a small trench of 50cm.
-some say these light concrete blocks 8baht/a go
-some suggest cinder blocks,, they are too weak in my eyes
-and real baked bricks (I have still no size and price)

420meter wall is quite a house number and concrete comes complete with foundation and reinforcing steel to 1.2 mill baht.. I will have my uncle going for another quotation and I guess the wall will be 900k then.
Clay bricks might be cheaper but more labour intensive, still need a foundation of concrete.
Bamboo and co... gardening jobs like clipping and sweeping at 35 degrees in the sun . Thats why I have extended my pond to 3000sqm. Catching lotus leaves, pulling cat tails, Papyrus and sometimes a snake is much more comfortable with the a** under water.

    6 Rai in total
its about 3000sqm of pond (or lake) a small creek and another small pond attached to it. I reckon in total I have then 3500 of 10200 squaremeter water.
Round 3000 sqm will be a kind of rainforest mainly damp/wet ground resistant fruit trees, scrubs and plants from all around the world, a chicken area of 500-700sqm..
These are the low maintenance areas. (this is one of the main reasons for the wall all around, keeping as much invaders, human, animals and herbs out.
Then the plan stops as first we need to get the house done and decide then what to do with the rest of surroundings.. some fruits like avocados, tropical peaches etc need dry feet so also there will be a bit more low maintenance areas coming.. turf of cause, a pavillion with BBQ/Pizza oven and Smoker.. I still struggle to post pictures here otherwise I would have post a small drawing whats all about.

all what is green and looking like turf is still "unexplored area", It still has to be decided what we do with that but some trees that needs dry feet are in auntie's garden growing since 3 years.. And she treats them with love..

A small Aquaponics Farm comes also in my mind
Why Aquaponics is a funny story:
I have relatives in Holland and germany and they are into hydroponics so i thought, show the family how to do things with less bone jarring labour..

after I built a test field of 120sqm in aunties garden, under permanent watching and laughing of all family and neighbors,
bit like look the farang nephew of Pi Suk wants to grow thai veggies in PE pipes just with water out of auntie's small pond, farang baaa maak maak..
As it started to work out, auntie called my wife and asked,, basil is 3 weeks, salad 4 weeks and sooo biig, isn't that poisonous, sure we can eat this??
Now the entire Village is eating greenery and can't run up, parts are going to the chicken...
and now auntie braggs everywhere around that her soo clever farang nephew made her a plastic garden and (SHE!!!) can make out of fish pee green salad with perfect taste and no sand crunching while eating just with blue PE pipes..
so the attached 20000sqm land to mine (auntie's Land) will be kept to make a huge aquaponic farm for the entire Family.. I haven't started about the marketing of this one, 20k sqm vertical AP can produce about 1.3 mill head lettuce per 35 days,, I guess it a bit too much to feed the chicken and the table in Rayong fruit market she has will collapse at the first day harvest ;-) TIT amazing family amazing Thailand.. I just love them all..

LOL Golf is a too high demand of maintenance and I am too good in that. Every shot I am making a hole in one...

    ...side of my new wall.

some sunchairs with some oiled brown beauties, dressed in tight bikinis having coctails with these silly little paper umbrellas?
That would keep me most of the day in the water, doing pond works..

...and my wife might divorce me within one day after she did shoot with her bow a "Robin Hood" splitting an arrow in my trunks..

so as only Idea I would think about more trees, a table and some benches and another natural theme like a mountain landscape or colour garden with brown and white goats for retired ISIS tourists...
....did I mention lovely oiled up brown girls with cocktails in bikinis?

    ...back to my wall
-the red lightweight bricks would cost more than the house behind as I just calculated
-so as i see is the cheapest low mainenance solution a concrete wall where I work some deep joints in by nailing wood slats or tree twigs on the mould panels that it looks like a rock wall and let grow moss inside the joints..

and how did Thaimeme get that picture posted? I just can't get it..

I spent 8 years in the Navy, guns are not an option.
I got a recurve bow 37lbs, reached now pretty good accuracy on 90 yards and I am thinking to go for 42 lbs next.
A compound bow is even worse, the arrows at 60yrs are going still right through a body, that means how to explain the cops the hole was an arrow
A bow doesn't need a license btw and has far more accuracy in range as a e.g.
.38 special which you are limited to max 25m.
So beside a wall and dogs I have some more options..
My wall is actually more for the purpose, to keep the bought good soil and the dogs in and most critters and unwanted fast spreading herbs out..
