David, if the little rectangle in the photo is correctly centred on your number plate, you are dead meat. If you have a problem you can ask for it to be reassessed (and I recommend this....the fine is put on HOLD while this happens, and there is no cost), but if they are still adamant that you are at fault, it is a waste of your time and money to go to court....I tried going through that process last year and finally bailed out....the system is stacked against you in a big way. They do NOT like people setting precedents.

If you go to court and they call an expert witness to verify the accuracy of their Poliscan machine (or whichever one it is) it will cost you up to $3,000 for their witness fees.

Having said that, I had a win with the Brisbane City Council parking people earlier this year. But the QLD police ? A bunch of arseholes.

I've seen plenty of speed camera photos and never seen a rectangle.
What's required is an understanding of how they work and of angles. if a car on your left or right was accelerating at just the right time, the camera could have been triggered but you were in the sweet spot. It all happens so fast. David, get the photo and post it up here, and if you can, the position of the camera. It may very well be a case of laziness on the part of the cops.
Also, any data log on your gps?

Get up this morning to find further Merican incursion on the TV. A mild weather event is now a catastophe called a"Weather Bomb", wankers. And people seem to need to add emphasis to everything like the septics do by prefixing everything with "Super", so you are now Super Happy with something or its Super Amazing, it was bad enough when everything started becoming Perfect and awesome. Its getting more difficult to emphasise when something really is great, as this sounds ....mundane.

Just take the laminates home for the weekend and spend your waking hours, whilst trapped inside your environmental containment area tapping the laminates on something to take the sharpness off.

They are seen on photos taken by Poliscan speed laser speed cameras originally used in Perth, and now Queensland. I've had a few of the fuckers. The box around part of your car (called a template) identifies the infringing vehicle.

^^^, ^^ OK. Nothing like that in NZ. Is it basically the centre of the photo? I might argue that the black car in the back could have triggered it as it overtook on the left. It's in the beam, perfect split second timing.
