Anyone know where to buy recessed bathroom lights in Pattaya?

Looking for something to put over the shower, 4inch recessed lights, but having a difficult time tracking down lights that are made for this. No shortage of standard recessed lights, or even those with covers, but what we've used in the States were rated for dampness / moisture.

Am I out of luck on this one?

I'll add that on my list of places for tomorrow. I made rounds today and no one could understand why I just didn't want to install an exposed light on top of my shower.

I got mine from Homepro in Udon Thani, it was specifically designed for above the shower, hope it helps.

That's what I'm looking for.

We used to use (USA) covered recessed lights with a rubber ring that would go on the inside of the cover to stop any water from entering the fixture.

If you are instaling an electric shower make sure it is wired direct from the fuse/trip box . Nothing else should be branched off the direct electric supply . If more than one shower then each should be wired direct to it's own fuse/trip

Yes, the hot water heater is on it's own GFCI breaker (this one), and the unit itself has a ELCB.

Now, the question is... is it all installed correctly.

Might be worth trying Boonthavon (heading north from Pattaya Klang on Sukhumvit 1/2 way before you get to the ramp for the BKK by pass road), The lighting shop (near Chaiapuk heading south down Sukhumvit 2-3 shops before the traffic lights) the owner is helpful, speaks english so he might be able to make further suggestions

The best shop with all the speciality stuff I know of is L&E lighting in BKK - it's located near Fortune tower - exit Rama 9 underground station.

My suggestion would be to install low voltage lights and put the transformer far away as possible. Standard voltage, humidity in the ceiling cavity is not a long term soloution.

I struck out at Boonthavon. They had everything but what I needed. I may make a trip to BKK this week.

I think I'm going to run these on a GFCI breaker in addition to what I find, just to be safe.

that would be the safest bet if your bathroom gets really steamy

I installed two ceiling fans in my shower, but use exposed fluorescent lighting. Easy to change the reliable starters and bulbs.
Bright lights are good....

BTW... Found these on the Osram site, exactly what I need, just need to find (or order) them. They are made for water / humidity.

The lights that are made for the bathroom will work in such conditions. I'm actually surprised they are not common here, even as backwards as they are with electric. All it takes is a little water to hit a hot bulb and that sucker explodes.

exactly my point, old lady, in the Uk my mirror does get steamed up, in Thailand, never
