Cheers, even with extending the back of the house out another 4m we still have a nice little garden as well as one in front of the house. Actually, with the guest room like it is and then the new master bedroom coming with the extension they will be facing each other and have about two metres in between them so thinking of installing sliding doors opening onto a little pond oasis type of thing. Ulitmately it should look nice, be better and cheaper than the two story mansions you see in these moobaans with the roof driplines right on the boundaries and only 2 metres from your neighbours house.

Well, another pic as it is coming along now.

You can see where I can slip right into the shed from the back gate. I was going to make that area bigger but just want to get it done first and have another look. I am thinking of where to park the bike, you don't always want it in the shed and nice to sit under the tree washing / tinkering with it so may have a little ramp coming off the raised concrete so I can bring it down to a paved area I am thinking of a paved area under the tree for a seating area / watering hole but like I said, thinking first. I guess the best way is to sit there and drink some beers, it will surley come to me what to do then! There will be cement around the whole place of course and will be glassing in the open areas on the bedroom with sliding doors later. They took out the hedge so have gained a couple of metres of yard which will get laid to lawn later.

I was concerned about the lack of vents in the gables but I think they are useless anyway and will install a little whirly vent on the back which I have heard work ok. They are pretty cheap. Or does anyone have a recommendation of insulation? Before they put the roof on?

One problem I am experiencing and a potential tip for young players is that we are dealing with the fact that it is being built with basic fixtures supplied but I wanted to "upgrade" things and it's difficult to say how much to deduct as I am buying the more expensive fittings. We are working it out though as I got her to do a couple of things for me too but as always it's best to have it clear from the start. My fault. It would have been better to say I would have supplied all the fittings/ tiles etc myself first. As some members do, buy all the materials themselves is the way to go if that is possible. If you are there the whole time.

A better shot of the backyard now that the hedge is gone. Thinking of getting that vine stuff that grows great on these wall for a better look. That mango tree should get nice and big and give good shade.

Tell me about it, there is a nest in it already. There days are numbered but I am tired of trying to get rid of them and ending up with the buggers all over me...

Well, it's finshed and I am pretty happy with the result. Here's a pic:

The only hassle is the workshop is too small of course, putting a bathroom in ate up the space I was hoping to have but some solid shelving and thought will solve that. The only hassle I had was the guys who did the roller door. Apart from being a week late and trying to over charge us after agreeing on a price they got welding spatter marks burnt into my tiles, generally did a shit job of it, pinched my extension lead which was the only thing in there-I got it back after raising hell- and one of the workers walked off with a brochure I was keeping. Just the attitude of these turkeys but fair play to my builder this was the first roller door she did and neeless to say she won't be using those arseholes again.

The other problem was a thai style patio I had put in, I was tired of the rain and heat so chucked this in until I do the house extension maybe next year then we can tear it out. Figuring it would be a nice cheap option my builders husband stepped in and promptly charged me B8000....I know, I got shafted there....Any ideas on what it should really have cost?

It is interesting to note that my lady builder never gave me an ounce of grief, was neat and she was able to think ahead and visualise how things would look in the end even when I couldn't and she did a good job of bringing it all together. The fact that the only trouble I had was from her husband and a bunch of theiving idiots doing the roller door, both men, says a lot really.

I will get her back to do the house extension later when funds have been topped up sans the men hopefully.

I had an extension the same size as that added about 2 years ago.
It was all steel framework with normal roof tiles painted blue.
    Cost 8000 baht.

Impossible to estimate the cost of what you have without knowing what sort of wood was used.
If it is bamboo or eucalyptus then they are peanuts.
The grass stuff is about 8 baht each.

Love the little worksop/ toilet block outside ,,,,, given me an idea for later . I think its a good idea to have an alternative place to go and do one,s ablutions ,,,,, must really annoy the inlaws as they assemble outside the cakka with their undying curiosity as to what a farang sounds and smells like when he curls one out
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

Just don't let them in the main house. Did a hole in the garden for the in-laws.

Well the problem is there not waiting to use the bog , it,s just the fact they all have to sit beside the fkn door when you go in there ,,,,, they all go back outside after the deed has been done.

I have a cunning plan when I build my bungalow , there,s gonna be a bathroom at the end of the corridor , with a lock inside the door , then a seperate soundproof room for a bog off that one , so when I go for a read of the paper etc , I can do it in peace , without as soon as I get in there " Honey where are you ?? " . I,m in the toilet . Oh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what you doin ? Having a crap ! is everyone in the house clear about that ! ,,,,,,,,,,,, solly no need to shout honey

Haha, yes, you can't underestimate the importance of having a second bog! It was a little shame I lost some shed space but it is good to have the set up like I did, it will make a perfectly good granny flat later if needed, the shed becoming a lounge area. I'm already in there ripping into my bike doing the mods I have been waiting months to do and there is enough space to work.

Yes, I had a big steel carport installed on the front and when I sectioned it up for the price, was about that for steel. Oh well, she didn't get the tip I was thinking of giving her thanks to her theiving husband.....

Yes, there are windows on the back part of it, all wood, no glass. I put insulation under the tiles, have a row of open bricks in above the windows the same as the wall and I also have a wall fan to put in. I'll get a pic in.
