Thread: Websites for pre-fab wooden house depots?

I'm trying to find company websites for those wooden house depots that you see around the place. The ones with a number of prebuilt wooden houses on a plot, that you can choose, then they come and built one on your land.

I remember browsing about 5 or 6 of these before, with photos, info and blueprints for each house. But now I can't find any. Basic googling just brings up single houses for sale through real estate agencies.

Anyone know of any?

And I believe the terms I was looking for in the OP is 'Pre-fab' and 'knock-down style' as opposed to 'pre-built'.

Enjoyed looking at the site, houses seem a good deal.

Was just coming down Chaeng Wattana road today towards Vipawadii-Rangsit.

2 or 3 km before you get to V-Rangsit there's a big depot on the left side of the road. Was just about past it and didn't fancy doing a U-Turn but had about 4 models along the front, one massive one, one smallish one with a banner for 730,000b along it, and 2 bigger ones.

It looked rather deep so looked like they had quid a few different models in there all together.

First time I've seen a depot for these in BKK.

I don't go up to that side of the city much, but next time will think to bring a camera and have a good nose around.

If you keep going east, past Viphawadee Rd., where Chaeng-Wattana becomes Ram Intra, keep along east, past the Laksi roundabout, and just before the Lat Pla Khao flyover, there's another place that has a few wood house models on display. Last time I was there they had three or four smaller ones. The largest was about 60 sq meters methinks, and was listed for around 550,000 Baht...(iirc).

I have seen many of these sites and even have talked personally to the owners of Lannahomes and saw their houses in Udon at a resort they were contracted to build. Not that great as far as workmanship. I travelled to Chiang Mai and visited Thaweephan Wood Homes which were a much better constucted product and obtained a quote that was fairly reasonable for a non-teak wood house. There are lots of companys out there that have jumped on the wood house or teak house bandwagon, but I would hesitate going with any of them with the fear they will go out of business before they finish my house.
It would be good to see a comparison of these different companies with price lists and ratings of the quality of their work. I know this is asking a lot, but it seems to be difficult to find out what a reasonable cost is for this type of house. Like many others, I like the traditional Thai style with western comforts that I can live with. If anyone has such a comparison, it might be worth sharing with all of us. In the mean time, I continue to look for wood sources from older houses for sale or wood yards similar to what Dr. Andy did. It makes the most sense to me and seems to be the most cost effective. Now I just need to find a decent carpenter or woodworker.
