    Hillbilly's land update...

My land is located in this area.

Here is a view overlooking our 'sala'.

We have slowly been acquiring more land around our original plot. The only problem is the locals know a 'falang' is involved. Anyway, today we begin to add more fill dirt.

In the background is the Nan River.

I was starting to wonder where all this dirt was coming from. So I followed one of the dump trucks about 10 kms away to the site where the dirt was being collected. The 'big boss' had bought 1 rai for B50,000. Slowly it was being turned into a giant lake.

This was good dirt and not crap fill. BTW, we paid B380 per truck load.

Finally, after 200 truck loads and about B100,000 the fill was done. The guy with the blue shirt is the boss and holding my/his money.

Here is the hillbilly hard at work...Actually, I am moving a coconut tree from where it had been originally planted. The worker had planted it right in the middle of where my house is going to be.

Here is the teak wood for my fence. Hopefully, construction begins next month.

you have the same job as me then never had much luck fishing in the rivers but we have found a spot where a Thai lady wants to catch a Farang so we are aloud to fish in her ponds for free
we give her 200 bht each every time we go there as I feel guilty taken her fish for free and we still have to find a farang for her she would be a good catch for a old pisspot farang as she loves a drink but very well off owns a lot of land and not to hard on the eyes

And I paid 420 baht per 10 lor truck about a year ago for in-fill dirt they called it. Looked pretty good to me though - not that green slimey shit but not the 'Naa Din' stuff you use for topsoil either.

Had 279 trucks in and I've probably got another few to go.
