Thread: What kind of water filter do I need?

Is this type oif filter easy to clean, or, do you buy replacement filters?

Easy to clean as you can back flush very couple of months. After about a year or 18 months will have to replace the carbon. Prices vary but average 9-10,000 baht for the filter unit. When you buy it it will come with enough carbon to fill. Replacement carbon is a bit expensive about 4,000 baht depending on filter size.

We have a deep bore well.
We use a resin filter to remove silt and a carbon filter for drinking water.

The resin filter can be backflushed and the resin granules replaced every few years .

Any salinity in your water? We have very high salinity in deep bore wells here in Roiet.

I don't really know. Chemistry never was my strong point.
Our water is alkaline , does that help ?

No saltiness. We use the water for everything except drinking, so, I guess I should look into a resin filter then.

I bought a particle filter in CM from a seller doen below Carrefour and then I buy a few filter replacements every time we go up, they are getting more spendy, but at forst were 99 baht, noe 300 baht, but are 10 micron and last a few months each, same filter I used in Idaho at my cabin when pumping water from the creek to a house tank that we used for every thing, best tasting water around as was snow/glacier melt water. it is cheap and does fine for us here as we catch rain and get a few leaves in it and we dont drink it..
