Suggestions for a cheap little garage in which we can store stuff?

We still have lots of stuff we keep with a storage company in Bangkok at the moment. We have enough space on our new land to build a small 30 sqm garage with doors and roof. This place is really just for storing some furniture and we might add a carport to it. I was thinking to use the cheap hollowed out concrete blocks for the walls.

What cheap roofing and foundation should I get?

We are going to build the main house with q con blocks and white colorbond roofing so it would be good if the garage has a white roof too that it doesnt look too much out of place. Any advice on how to build a cheap, decent garage like this would be awesome.

Q bloc is so quick may as well do both and have a fireproof cool shed for a few $ extra pm If you wish I have used in my place.

Long way from BKK, but built a duck house last year, pre cast concrete poles 800 each, concrete bricks 8.000 Baht, roof we used tin sheet, only ducks, but colored roofing on my patio , I think 130 Baht a meter.
After that up you to you, windows, roller garage door or plain single door, rendered and painted or not, electricity, lights etc.
Duck shed cost around 30,000 baht, but though much bigger than 30 SQ M not bricked to the roof, cyclone wire for the upper half. Jim

If space enough, make a big shed. You always seem to be short of space after a while. Better to look at empty space for some time than looking at stuff piling up high and difficult to retrieve...

I would go for metal beams and sheeting with corrugated metal sheets for sides and roof. Add (sliding) doors and small (roof) windows where you want them. A built-in ventilator would be nice also. Cement floor and shed anchored to it. Something like this...





For car, tractor and off road bike add another (open) section...

Thanks for the suggestions. As we plan to store some more sensitive items such as clothes as well we probably want this to be rather critter proof (as good as possible).

I will look at all the stuff again and maybe we just package it better.

I like those poles so much that when I build my "man-cave" on that same plot, I intend to use the pre-cast concrete poles. Walls will be concrete block and roof will be tile or similar.

To be very honest, I'm not so sure of the strength of these pre-cast poles. As long as there is no certificate I won't buy them. I mean this is Thailand, not Europe guys...

Not really hi tech, steel and concrete, you can go watch yours being made. they all done locally.

My house, small factory and duck shed are all made from them, solid as rock. Jim

Ducks goats three little pigs? Use the block. A tin snips will get you a in a tin box. Cheap is not where you would want to be then.
