^ She likes bank robbery films like "Ocean's 11", etc. so probably thinks it improves my image.

Cordless drill at least a 3/8th bit (10mm) where you insert key, plenty of pressure drill out, easy.

    ^ not quite.

There will be obligatory 6 pages of abuse, counter abuse, off topic comments, discussions on technique, some abuse of Thai building standards and possibly a photo essay on someone's dinner before the thread dies the usual quiet death.

    This was strangely disturbing.

Mods: can you change the thread title to something more descriptive please? "Gerbil whacks his knob off" would do.

Shit locksmith you had, any locksmith should be able to open a cheap lock.I actually tried the credit card trick once and it worked. But the door has to be a little loose against the stops.Otherwisejust smash the handle off as you did and expose the tubular latch.

Yes that's what I'd do too. If not then your number two choice (Gerbil) of whacking off the door knob and chiseling out the remnants would be my next choice.

    Good luck

We had the same problem when living in condo, the service guy came along within 5 mins with his lump hammer, whack, we were in , he knocked off the handle, new knob/lock fitted, all done in 15 mins.

Find a locksmith with one of those things they use to unscrew lock faces from the outside. Once in, you should be able to find your way through.
