    Comparison between 2 massage schools

    Hello everybody,

I'm about to start the process of enroll myself in one of the two most credited schools (for what is available online to check) of Thai massage.

The two of them have very nice reviews but they offer significant different approaches. TMC Offer a 300 hours course from 3 Out to 15 Dez. Their location is a litle more far from the center (more or less 6km?) and cost 89.000 Bht.

Old medicine hospital in other hand, is the oldest school in Thailand, and offer a sum of 7 courses with a few day gap between them, from 10 Out to 25 Nov with a cost of 35000 Bht and they offer a flight ticket from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

There is a considerable difference in the tuition and I would like to know from someone experience what is involved in this big difference from a learning curve experience perspective.

    Thanks a lot

I can put you in touch with an instructor in the Hua Hin are who is probably the most credited instructor.
She is the director of Thai Massage and Medicine in Ministry of Health. She also lectures to various institutions around Bangkok/Hua Hin area, Last year , she tutored over 600 students in both individual and class session.
Next month she will be reopening her own school in the Hua Hin area, but will be travelling around conducting classes as the need arises.
I'm not sure of the prices, but will be competitive with everybody else.
If you want to send me a message , I can have her contact you with whatever information, you require.
    Regards

Just as a comparison, Wat Po has its own massage school offering professional courses of 200 hours for 42,000 baht. They are also highly regarded .Link :

Thai Massage Medical School :2011 tuition fee increase

You can learn a hell of a lot just doing the advanced massage course , 60 hours at 14,000 baht providing you can find a lot of friends to practice on.

TMC is solely for foreign students.

Old Medicine Hospital is a real traditional medicine hospital. They teach mostly Thai people there.

The materials at both schools are basically the same. You would have a more authentic experience at the Old Medicine Hospital and save a bit of money as well.

Wat Po in Bangkok, mentioned above is a good one also. Like Old Medicine Hospital the majority of students are locals. Wat Po and Old Medicine Hospital are probably the best in the country.

Thanks a lot for all your feedback.
What could be the cause for such big difference of total hours between them?
If I chose OMH promotion and picj the 7 course package they will offer the ticket from bangkok to Chiang May also. The drawback is that there are several day interval between each one of the courses.

Is this a good place also to ask about European Visa/electron cards on local TM machines?
