not exactly true,. some of the bars in patpong can be quite good fun. and dont forget elvis and tom jones shows on at radio city - fridays adn saturdays ... always a bit of good fun.

plus soi 4, plus some oirish bars, plus ... is it hip? disco at any rate.

The area has some good bars and I like a bit of pool at the Red Parrot, but for go go bars it's crap.

Sabang, plenty of good mongering in Bangkok, you need to get up the Ratchada area. Lot of good looking girls round there.

Landed safely, flight wasn't bad, got some kip on the plane it was almost empty so i lazed out across 4 chairs. Arrived to a miserable raining morning followed by a sad tour of the a13 listening to heart fm, as depressing as it gets. Been sleeping and recovering since last night, guts are still spraying out lumpy gravy but its getting better.
It was sad to go man, i hated leaving. But its kicked me in the arse to try and get back out earlyish next year, like march-april kind of time.

Well I got the 'returned home safely' email, as usual a next visit to Thailand is already being planned.

Went to a show in PP a couple of years ago - the missus' brother and cousin (bumpkins from NE) wanted to go. I warned them that I (the only farang) had no intention of paying for anything other than MY beer.

It was horrible...but it was funny seeing the thai lads getting hassled by the girls for money. They didn't know what to do or say (I just told the girls NO) and got stitched up for a couple of hundred baht each - a lot of money for them!!

sorry to say that these acts really had their day many moons ago in patpong. the showgirls who did these tricks moved from bar to bar and they made a good living but as there are few bars now where they can perform their projected earnings must not make it worth their while . its mostly half hearted acts from inexperienced chancers in grimy surroundings ,with a big tab at the end
