SRV was a tremendous guitarist who died like too many US artists, by a plane.
The UK is very small and the motorways are very safe generally, so the death of most rockers is due to drugs or booze rather than transport.
Reminds me of my year out in Vienna, Austria in 1994, great days spent partying.
U96 are the founders of Techno.
Wouldn't mind something to smoke-what a day
Why isn't this girl a superstar now?

Sings one song very well, was the biggest selling single of 2008
That reminded me of this...haven't heard it in years.Originally Posted by Crestofawave

Crestofawave SRV was in a helicopter that crashed into the side of the winter time ski hill at a place called Alpine Valley. It was a foggy evening and the pilot must have forgotten the ski hill and didn't have altitude to clear it.
I believe SRV saw what was happening and jumped from the chopper before it hit the hill. They eventually found him but he had already expired. They estimate he lived for awhile after the accident but was not found in time to help him.
I believe Eric Clapton was to be on the flight as well but gave up his seat for someone else. Lucky twist of fate there for him.
On a side not I never heard of Rory Gallagher until I saw him open for Ted Nugent. After that I was hooked. .....the fish. Haha.
I'll have to dig up the LP and give it a spin on the Sony. As I recall it has Moon Child, County Mile, and Calling Card on it just to mention a few. Thanks for the flash back...................the fish.
