Boy Computer in Mae Jo does good work and orders anything you need. Shop is at the T intersection of MaeJoe highway and the old Sansei road, at the light. If you live out this way, it is a good option. Boy himself speak English very well, so no problems there.

There is a personal shopper in Bangkok they can buy anything you want if you cannot order on online shops.

Fortune Tower is indeed excellent often vist when at the Mercure nice malls opposite with MRT,

However as Klong Toey observed its a fair shclepp from Craggy Island so perhaps like myself I find posts improve more water I embibe.

Anyone any experience of repairing a laptop screen?

You see my samsung didn't mind being dropped the first 6 times , but after the 7th it's taken umbrage.
And now sometimes , in fact half the time, the screen flashes on and off every few seconds.
At home I just use a monitor instead of the screen , but would like to fix it so i can take it out without giving people epileptic fits .
Now
Is it a good idea to try to open the screen up , and look for a loose connection ?
or will i just cause more problems ?

Golly I think your right leave it to the geeks you woudn't want to get stuck in a jam.Good thing here labour is cheap and many non maindealer backstreet shops just finding the right person

but just changing a plug is very easy and any electric shop can do that

Try the big stores near Chang Puak, Icon is one, they have computer repair people inside and you can buy any accessories

There is probably no point in trying to repair it if your problems inside your computer are caused by ants.

I have had ant problems,
Many times. You need to nip them in the bud.
If you see ANY ants going inside, there could be a queen in there.
And if this is the case, take it to someone who knows what to do.

You might still be able to save your investment!

i use Kassmegsy anti fungal for Ant removal,Nortons or mateloys fave Avast

My laptop screen problem - solved

I took baldricks advice and found a relevant youtube video :
some geezer with a screwdriver and a poncy pair of tweezers.
Ripping the screen out he was, with gusto too.

Now my go , a hair raising endeavour it was, with my record of totally breaking stuff I try to repair.

Not being a puff, I didn't bother with the tweezers - a mistake as the little screws kept getting jammed, dropped and stuck.

loose connection sorted , now back to extended display , with the mouse flying about between monitor and laptop screen.
Lovely.

Right now I'm on a roll , I'm going to open my head up and sort that out.

I suspect you'll need packing material. I recommend bubble wrap.
