Er, what people really need to stay safe on Thai roads is some decent software between their ears and a good dose of fortune. I'd imagine that walking or driving on Thai roads with your eyes glued to you phone would almost guarantee an accident of some sort.

Trouble is also that many people who have a phone also listen to their earphones nowadays. In busy areas this is plain stupid, and more so when I see folks on bicycles and motorbikes.

Is instant communication oh-so-important? I think it just shows up those who aren't really busy rather than those that genuinely are engaged in a work conversation.

Any self respecting person of that ilk wouldn't need to 'show' themselves being on the phone.
