Turnaround Time for Chinese Visa for UK and Thai Nationals

    Howdy folks,

How long does it take for the issuing of the two visas if making applications in person in BKK? I was hoping it'd be VoA as I was wanting the destination to be a surprise but I'm pretty sure the visa has to be issued in advance.

    China Visa

Standard application takes three days after day of submission. Monday is a particularly busy day so best not used. Easy to get to the embassy - take a train to Rama 9 and a short walk to Soi 3. The visa department is on the first floor of first building on your left in the Soi. One passport photo required. Two forms to be completed if you are not Thai.

Be aware that they have really tightened up on the issuance of Chinese visas from the Chinese embassy in Bangkok. You can still get one the same day, but you need to have proof of flights and hotel booking in China. They will not issue a visa without this information. When they found out from my visa that I was married to a Thai. I was asked to provide a copy of my wife's ID card and the marriage certificate. You must also copy the photo page and the visa page in your own passport. This was on the 10th of may this year.
    Good luck

The 2 entry tourist visa cost me 1650 Baht and if you want to get it the same day it's an extra 1200 Baht.

Remember to take with you the docs I mentioned in an earlier post.
