As this was a murder verdict (and not manslaughter), it looks like the jury did not accept that this was a spur of the moment crime of passion. (or better to say 'crime of getting on his tits')

They perhaps infer this was premeditated.

We're all assuming - given the tone of the article, that he just cracked. Well that was his defence, but the verdict implies something darker.

I experienced a short period where the rib tried that on, it soon stopped when I demonstrated how easy it was for me to get a younger, better-looking, Brazilian girlfriend. No star wars figures were needlessly traumatised.
