US cops are racists, they never miss a chance to beat up black or other cultural identities as soon as they have a chance

    their British ancestry I suspect,

looks like they failed if you still need youtube or Hollywood to get your "cultural" education,

like I said, Thailand reminds me a lot of the US and the Americans, no culture, no taste, and a lot of empty minds

at least they are not fat, and loud, their only redeeming value

I don't think I ever heard 'haka' mentioned once in my university years- maybe if I liked rugby like your unwashed lot, I'd have a better understanding of it (or did you major in 'tribal dances' at school?)

Paid to know about every culture in the world? Sorry, but it is not what they are paid to do nor do they have time to learn. They are paid to go out and be proactive on crime, not reactive. They are paid to patrol a city, keep it safe and prevent crime before it happens. A very difficult, impossible and mostly unrewarding task.

A lot of money is not spent on training the police. Most police require 40 hours of ongoing training a year. 8 hours is usually spent on hazmat training, another 16 on fire arms training, another 8 on traffic accident reconstruction, another 8 on crime scene investigation. Nothing really left after that except maybe a hour or two spent on diversity training and certainly no time to mention the Haka dance.

On a side note, Cops are generally not paid well either. Many police officers choose that profession because it was a life ling dream to be a cop. A cops career generally begins with the thought of saving the world, protecting and serving and being a role model to the community and children. Part way through their career they realize they are fighting a losing battle and the expectations they had were false. Then usually their careers ends - often suffering from PTSD, alcoholism, depression and sadly often suicide. I have dozens and dozens of friends in family that chose to be police officers and know their struggles quite well. I do not know a finer bunch of individuals than them. They are all honorable, hardworking, family men that face injury and even death every day. They do not get the kudos they deserve.

    ^ sorry, Chi but...

Your just trying to defend the Y(w?)ank police without thinking it through.

They are paid to know the make-up of their community. Fullstop. When they go to local community events (not a one off, this is a known situation, as the articles states) then they are paid and trained to know about that event and the people that are and have been consistently there. Fullstop.

A massive amount of money is spent on police training - I've seen police academy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, so I know. FACT!

You're just making excuses Chi and going well off topic and out of context... The police fuked up, it's simple. Period (even turned it into Yanky language out of respect for ya...).

The cop may not have known what it was called but it must have been obvious they were doing some kind of rehearsed organized cultural thing.
    What did he think?
They were just making it up as the went along?

Yeah- when was the last time you put on the gloves? January? I'd be happy to pummel you for the fun of it, though.

I watch a lot of American sports, JJ- I've seen a couple of colleges try a haka, but it sure ain't mainstream.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Storm in a teacup, if you are told to move/clear an area by the Police you move or suffer the consequences, you do not necessarily have to agree or even understand why you are asked to move, you just have to move if told so.

    End off.
