Egyptians don't like Arabs much, even if they are Muslim.
They're far more moderate and tolerant of Christians and Jews than most other Islamic states.
I met some Muslims from Timbuktu a couple of years ago, in a night club (of all places) in Dubai. Ended up being invited to stay with them in Timbuktu.
I'd love to spend time there.
It is a major Islamic university city, with some amazing architecture and a very ancient history.
It also has a strong Jewish community there, and upholds religious freedom.
They may well be more tolerant and moderate than other islamic states; but their treatment of the indigenous christian community is by non-islamic standards abysmal. Its like describing rhodesia's treatment black people as moderate compared to aparthate south africa.Quote:
