I used to hang out with a bunch of germans in Phuket.
Great guys with great sense of humor.
I am still in touch with several of them a decade later.

Of course it helps, if one is able to speak german, but they were pretty good at english too.
Now, show me a ruskie with a sense of humor, I never met one of those.
