I've read blacks have harder skulls, so a small caliber gun like a 22 or 32 won't always do the job. The Giffords chick even survived a 9mm shot to the head, the trauma units in most US cities are very good too, because they deal with so many gun shot wounds. I know a guy who was shot seven times after being robbed last year and he survived, he has to wear a colostomy bag now though.
in an attack it will be a body shot. Maybe when he goes down a head shot, but an attack its shot the mass which is the body.
I don't know about that. You're better off going for a head shot if you're close to the person, a lot of people are wearing bullet proof vest today.

People don't aim for the head, people learn to shoot on target ranges, the target is the top half of a person, the centre is the center of the chest, so they learn to shoot at the center of the chest, this is ingrained, he gets whacked in the face he aint going to change what he learned, not that it makes a lot of difference with a .45.

I've had a load of attempted muggings on me and depending on who's mugging you and who you are with they can be a real laugh.
My first attack was when me and my mate were walking home drunk from the main town, my mate had walked out with his pint and was drinking it on the way home. 3 Dudes ran up to us and said that they're mate was dying in the underpass.
We both fell for it and ran down to help. Suddenly the dude pretending to be passed out gets up and the 2 of us are confronted with 4 dudes asking for our wallets. Oh Shit!!
My mate without even thinking screams at the four of them and then smashes his own pint glass over his head and screams "YOU WANNA FUCK WITH ME??? I'M FUCKING NUTS!!" needless to say that all of the dudes walked away and we didn't get mugged.
I lived in Northampton and have about 4 more similar stories of me having an attempted mugging.
Usually I was on the way to a party so they all made for great stories when I got there.:)

I'd been working in LUXE which was the club/cocktail bar for cocks. I was walking up the street and had about 30 quids worth of 1 pound coins from tips in my pocket.
A homeless dude on the street asked for some money and I said I didn't have any.

He stood up to make a move but I decided to lay a big one on him before he could get me. A scrap happened but he didn't get any cash from me. I did get 2 black eyes from his haymaker that he layed on my nose but that just made for a better story when I got home.

I think I'm right in saying that the states with the laxest gun laws and the highest gun ownership have the highest per capita gun death rates.
