Jack Straw was rounded on today after accusing some Pakistani men of preying on white girls because they are seen as 'easy meat'.
The former Home Secretary claimed there was a 'specific problem' with Pakistani men after two Asians were jailed for targeting vulnerable teenagers.
Mr Straw suggested young Pakistanis deliberately look for white girls and urged the Pakistani community to be 'more open' about the issue.

Muslim groups condemned the suggestion of a general problem as 'deeply offensive' and another senior Labour MP cautioned against stereotyping.

Abid Saddique and Mohammed Liaqat led a gang who brought a 'reign of terror' to Derby as they groomed young girls for horrific sexual abuses.

Saddique, 27, was jailed for at least 11 years and Liaqat, 28, for at least eight at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday.

The pair, who were both married fathers, cruised Derby's streets for victims while their unsuspecting families waited at home for them.

According to research this week, there have been 17 prosecutions of on-street grooming of girls involving at least two men since 1997.

From a total of 56 convictions, 53 of the defendants were Asian and the other three white. But the judge in this latest case ruled out race as a factor.

Judge Head told the duo: 'I have concluded that your overwhelming aim was to secure as much sex as possible.'

But Mr Straw said: 'There is a specific problem which involves Pakistani heritage men... who target vulnerable young white girls.

'We need to get the Pakistani community to think much more clearly about why this is going on and to be more open about the problems that are leading to a number of Pakistani heritage men thinking it is OK to target white girls in this way.'

The MP for Blackburn, who stood down front frontline politics last year, said: 'These young men are in a western society, in any event, they act like any other young men, they're fizzing and popping with testosterone, they want some outlet for that, but Pakistani heritage girls are off-limits and they are expected to marry a Pakistani girl from Pakistan, typically.

'So they then seek other avenues and they see these young women, white girls who are vulnerable, some of them in care... who they think are easy meat.

'And because they're vulnerable they ply them with gifts, they give them drugs, and then of course they're trapped.'

I think Jack Straw is right, its also been a large Pakistani vote that has kept him in his seat for 30 years.

then next election Straw will be moved

Not just seen as, they are easy meat.

It's easy, Socal, at least in the UK. Just hang around the public housing projects (forget what the Brits call them). There is no Dad, since he left after performing his function as sperm donor. Mom is drunk playing bingo. The brothers are in gangs robbing people, and these little girls are just hanging around looking for someone to pay attention to them.

This doesn't work in America, as we store all of our Negroes in public housing and they are prone to kill and eat strangers. Also doesn't work in trailer parks, as that's where we keep all of our poor white trash and they love to shoot them some Pakis. Hope this helps.

There's no story here, other than:

Why did they need to say anything? He was talking about Pakistanis, not Muslims.

If you want an example of the official “conspiracy of silence” that has allegedly allowed hundreds of vulnerable white girls in some towns to be abused by Asian men, the case of Ajmal Mohammed, a 43-year-old from Blackburn, might seem to be it. In 2004, Mohammed, an amateur cricketer in the Ribblesdale league, took a schoolgirl to a Manchester hotel room and got her drunk – to celebrate, he said, her 14th birthday. The child ran away. Police were called, but he denied having sex with her and they issued him with a “child abduction warning letter”. He was never prosecuted.

Two years later, Mohammed took another 14-year-old to a hotel room, this time in Blackpool – and this time he raped her. When the police came for him, they found the numbers of six other vulnerable youngsters on his mobile phone.

In industrial towns across the North and the Midlands, over the past three years, at least 51 people have been convicted in trials involving groups of men who have picked up young girls for sexual exploitation. Forty-eight of the offenders were Asian; the vast majority of the victims were white. Last week, in Derby, nine men, eight of them Asian, were sentenced for their parts in a gang that groomed, sexually exploited and in some cases raped 27 local children, 22 of them white.

The issue exploded on to the national agenda on Friday after Jack Straw, the former Home Secretary who is also MP for Blackburn, said that in his town, some Pakistani men saw white girls as “easy meat”. There was, he said, “a specific problem of Pakistani-heritage men who target vulnerable young white girls, and we need to get the Pakistani community to think much more clearly about why this is going on and about the problems that are leading to a number of Pakistani-heritage men thinking it’s OK to target white girls in this way”.
