some dipstick back in uk sat on his/her ass ,getting paid 100,000 sterling plus p/y just to make decisions that take years to arrive at... a simple solution that takes 5 mins with a bit of grey matter ....

back in the states this guy would be living nice squatting in a foreclosed mcmansion and collecting welfare. nice shoes though.

A true example I am trying to sort out now.

A Taiwanese lady friend ( my ex , legally married now to my mate , good friends with both of them , Lives now in Newcastle) has been living in UK legally for 2 years with a "Permit to Reside"
This has to be renewed every year for the first 5 years , then she can get a 'Permanent Resident' visa.
They have a 18 month old daughter who was born in UK and has a British passport.
Tried to renew her visa as usual and has been told that she has to take a written examination on 'Britishness" before her visa runs out in 3 weeks or she will be an illegal immigrant !

I have seen the practice sample test paper and she has to get 18 out of 24 correct !
Tried it and only got 13 right !

Absolutely crazy
She speaks perfect English and 6 other languages.
Phoned up the test centre for her and would you believe it ??
Was answered by either an Indian or Pakistani and could hardly understand a word they were saying !!

Told she would have to go back to Taiwan - with her husband and re apply for entry.
