ISLAMIC fanatics are mutilating themselves at a British mosque in a bloody ceremony carried out only yards from a busy high street.

Shia Muslims use a five-bladed chain called a Zanjeer to whip their own backs and make cuts in their foreheads with razor blades in homage to their faith.

Bare-chested men were left bleeding heavily during the ritual known as Matam – self-flagellation – which a witness described as being “like a scene from a horror film”.

The Sunday Express found that up to 800 men performed the bloody ceremony in secret at the Imamia Mosque in Forest Gate, east London, last year.

The Matam takes place during the annual Shia Ashura ceremony and commemorates the death of Husayn, a grandson of the prophet Muhammad. It is practised largely in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and India as well as Yemen and Afghanistan but this is the first time it is known to have taken place in Britain.

Huge wooden screens were put up around the mosque to keep the event secret and prevent passers-by on busy Romford Road seeing the bloodletting.

The Sunday Express visited the mosque last week and learned that the ceremony took place last December and is due to be repeated next month. One man who witnessed the ceremony last year was so alarmed by what he saw he nearly passed out. He said: “There was blood everywhere. There were pools of blood on the ground and my clothes were splattered with blood. It was very scary.

“I was told it was part of a religious ceremony but the anti-western sentiment was clear. If the public had seen what was going on they would have reported it to the police. It was like a scene from a horror film.”

A devout member of the mosque who attended last year’s ceremony said he was proud of the thick Matam scars across his back and showed them to our photographer. Ameer Hamza, 21, a student from Forest Gate said: “I started doing it when I was a kid. ”

Scotland Yard said it was aware of the annual Ashura event at the mosque but had no knowledge of the bloodletting which it said it had no power to ban.

A spokesman said: “If it is on private property and no offence is being committed this is not a matter for the police. The Ashura is an annual community event which has taken place in Newham for many years.”

Newham Council said it had no know-ledge of the Matam taking place and the Ministry of Justice said self-flagellation was not an offence.

1 Christian Brits can openly worship in say Saudi Arabia? Fine, Saudis can have the priveledge in the UK.

2 If a muslims can protest in the UK, Brits can protest in their country. Not allowed? Cool, deport a few (immigrants) until that country lightens up.

3 Muslims spounging of the UK taxpayers? No worries, Brits can do the same in those countries. Not allowed? Then deport them back to where they came from...

Sorry, but as British citizens they have every right to protest against the invasion of other countries which at the time posed no thread to the security of the UK (unlike now).

The old, 'my religion is better than yours..... and we will win', because our belief in some fairy story is more valid than yours...however, we have no proof for such a belief.

I'm sure the moderate Muslims in the UK are equally appalled by this. Anyone know if they've made a public condemnation of this outrage.

I think these fucks have pushed things too far this time. Respecting/honouring the dead, which is nothing to do with religion or politics, and making it into some demonstration to further their extremist views, is beyond the pale in my opinion.

My Grandfather fought in the Great war, first in the Royal Navy but was thrown out because he had lied about his age, he was only 16 when he enlisted.

He re-enlisted in the Army when he was of age and was one of the guys that remained behind at the battle of the Somme to the hold the line as the allied troops fell back, in that battle he lost many good mates and was himself injured by shrapnel which nearly killed him and which he carried in him to his grave. He was a member of a courageous bunch of ordinary men that came to be known as "The Old Contemptibles", men that wouldn't fall back, just one of thousands of ordinary blokes caught up in a war for freedom and doing extraordinary things.


This is what remembrance day is all about, what these cunts are trying to do is hijack a ceremony honoring the dead and all of the ordinary men that fought in the great war by turning it into a religiously inspired issue of hatred, their arrogant disrespect for all of these brave men who fought and were injured or fought and died for our "and their" freedom and to allow us to live in the free and tolerant country that we live in is scandalous and outrages almost every one of us true British citizens.


I don't usually pipe up on religious issues but this neck on these cunts makes my blood boil.

I've always considered myself to be a tolerant man, after all we in the UK live in a society of nations so it pretty much dictates that we must be tolerant.
However my tolerance stops dead in its tracks when it comes to idiots like these condemning our soldiers, calling them murderers, burning poppies and disrespecting the memories of such fine and brave souls as my Grandfather and all the men that died for the freedom of Europe and the World while at the same time taking refuge under the British flag, the British society, and British laws.

And there's the crunch, what will it take for the British politicians to get off of their thieving arses and realise that this growing Muslim population is getting evermore out of control actualy is a problem for British society, its not just the radicals but also the ordinary Muslims in the street that feel the same way, they just let the radicals do their talking for them while they quietly whisper encouragement from the side lines.
This is a problem that isn't going away, I live right next door to Muslims in an area thats becoming increasingly populated by Muslims, I know what they are saying and it isn't pro British, it's decidedly anti British.
