NEW YORK — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that "the future belongs to Iran," and challenged the United States to accept that his country has a major role in the world.

The comments came in an hour-long interview Sunday with The Associated Press on the first day of his visit to the United States to attend the annual General Assembly of the United Nations this week.

He insisted that his government does not want an atomic bomb — something he has said in the past — and that Iran is only seeking peace and a nuclear-weapons-free world.

One of the things Ahmedinajad said during an earlier rant that should have perked up our ears but didn't, is that "a world without the United States is not only desirable, but achievable."

Unfortunately, our suicidal liberal media figured people should not know, because though Israel is expendable, they may be disconcerted to know that the US is on the same list.

I watched Larry King's interview with him this morning. Ahmedinajad made Larry look like an idiot, which of course he is. Ahmedinajad looked like a pendantic school master scolding a naughty school boy. I bet Larry went home after the interview and hid under the blankets.
