A more telling indicator of the typical American soldier is that when they come around women and children come out; knowing they will be protected, respected, and probably fed. The British military are also high in this ranking. Look at the history of other armies from the Germans and Japanese in WWII to the current crop of thugs masquerading as armies in Africa. The real jury as to the humanitarianism of any army is not a bunch of not at risk keyboard jockeys, but those civilians who are in harms way.

It's quite simple, MD. The West is held to impossibly high standards, whilst savages are excused whatever depravities they come up with since that's about what's expected of them.

This allows the liberal looneys to castigate the West, the softer target, and also to make themselves appear fair and impartial by compensating with a halfhearted shrug before bringing on some diversion whenever they're pinned down with the truth about those they defend.

What a hate-filled liberal definitely won't do, is concede that this is precisely why they are the greater bigots and racists, for first claiming to be impartial and then unashamedly straining over backwards to defend the indefensible.

You're quite right. Expecting soldiers not to murder people and then mutilate their bodies is utterly unreasonable, isn't it. Thank God we're not like those savages who try to excuse that kind of behaviour.

Twelve U.S. soldiers face trial after Afghan civilians 'were killed for sport and their fingers collected as trophies'

A waste of ammunition for sure but who of us here actually knows what these ragheads were really up to?

Read about some of the attrocities committed during the Vietman war and something like this isn't even on the same scale, but in those days the press wasn't as free as the world's meda is today.

Oops, excluding the Nation and the Bangkok Post that is!

Irrespective of what "these ragheads were up to", their bodies shouldn't have been abused. It shows the lack of discipline that these individuals possesed.

And of course the ragheads have never tortured and abused their own people, journalists, aid workers, or any the troops stationed in their miserable shit hole?

Wise up and stop being a wimp they're up in the heavens with their vestal virgins, their only problem is they won't be able to finger em before they de-flower em!

The victims in this particular case weren't aggressors but civilians going about their daily business. That has been admitted in the stories I've read.

Other than the defendants and the victims, nobody else was there. Unfortunately the victims all died which helps in the defence of the alleged. The people that defend their actions, if confirmed, which seems likely, add that little bit more as to why I dislike America. Just accept that your troops are an ill disciplined bunch of toe rags. I speak from experience having done maneuvers with them many times.
Death is natures way of telling you to slow down.

Well I have news for you or maybe not?

British troops were / have been marching on the bottle for years and drugs too and as far as I know to date despite the random tests there's still drug abuse in the British Army.

Saying all that I'd have to agree with you about one thing, American troups have a reputation for shooting first and asking questions after, but in the theatre of the Middle East if I was there I'm pretty sure that I'd tend to do the same. And I thank God I'm not in that shit hole or faced with the daily decisions they have to make on the ground.

But in this case the killings were premeditated. That is the case. The taking of body parts is a secondary thing. A newspaper headline grabber. If somewhat irreverent. They committed murder, full stop.

I have to ask..have you heard of the term innocent until proven guilty? or another...trial by media?

Why is that whenever people are reminded that you can't always believe what you read in the press, their answer is....

Errrrrrrrrr well of course I know that!

Yes, and the victims of these atrocities were never given their day in court. Reason being was because the soldiers concerned decided to be judge, jury and executioner. As well as glorifying themselves with the taking of body parts.

Yes and you've just underlined the point I made in my earlier post, "trial by media". You weren't there you didn't see anything, you only know as much as you have read. Try not to allow your dislike for Americans to colour / distort your views, it's racist even if many of them are self opinionated wankers!

Take two tablets and have a lie down, you'll feel calmer, don't read a newspaper for at least two weeks, longer if you can manage it and I'm sure you'll feel a lot better for it!

Correct. As individuals I judge as I find. As for "America", as a whole, I dislike their over all view to all that's non America.
Why the sniping insults ? We all have a right to an opinion, whatever your nationality.
