it has been revealed that hundreds of pentagon employees are purchasing child pornography.....and the pentagon has decided not to investigate the vast majority of them.

Pentagon has more important things to do.

What would happen if these folk were factory workers buying child porn, or hospital workers buyibg child porn, or hundreds of policemen buying child porn (like Belgium...)?

This needs to be invitigated and prosecutions to follow where the law dictates.

This is a serious subject and must be further investigaed, but as a sidebar I wonder why the OP used a photograph from the 1940's of the Pentagon to illustrate their article.

I took it up strongly because of the current electoral situation in Australia where one parliamentarian has already been dismissed for ( heaven forbid) looking at porn on his computer and another from a very strongly family oriented party has been found guilty of checking porn sites for research purposes.

Has anyone considered that the OP is a devoted follower of an ideology that legally endorses and sanctions non-vaginal sex with babies and toddlers, and full blown sex with girls from the age of nine? Such legal acts of sexual perversion occur daily, hourly, and as you read this they are happening around the world against children too young to know what is happening, and many too young to even know how old they are!

So while the incidence of child pornography in the Pentagon or anywhere else in the civilised world is indeed abhorrent, does anyone recall the OP ever, ever broaching the by far more serious topic of legal pedophilia by his own people? We are talking not of pictures, but real life adult men having physical sex with children and babies, many of them traded like lambs. Is swapping pics worse?

Child pornography is a crime- selling it, buying it, viewing it. It is the same crime if you work for the Pentagon, or drive a dumpster truck. That much is handled by the legal system.

The 'Issue' here is that in this very large organisation the Pentagon, well it seems quite a lot of nawty people have been caught viewing and swapping child porn- but many of them are not being charged. So Why? A cynic might say it's being swept under the table because of security clearance and public relations matters, a staunch defender might say merely because of lack of evidence.

Either way the equal application of Justice is a central tenet of our legal system- albeit often abused in practise- and I think an explanation is warranted. Whilst this is not an Issue I personally can get up in arms about, I think that it is only good that people are watching out for hypocricy and double standards.
