They were 'conquered' in 4 hours by the Japanese in WWII then occupied for the duration of rest of the war.


I suppose it is matter of interpretation 'Tuddy', Thailand was the only asian allie for Japan during that time. Japan just wanted to use Thai has a gateway. Some 100 Thai soldiers were believed to have been killed. A cease fire was ordered by Phibun.

But conquered by Japan. The Thai leader took the path of least resistance.

I appreciate that historians have distorted truths for whatever reason. But the essence of what I was saying is that historically the 'thai people' are a martial race united by a common language and a determination to be free.
