'She wants to cut off my privates'

    PHOEBE STEWART
    August 15th, 2008

A MAN was yesterday granted a court injunction to stop a woman trying to cut off his penis.
Tony Goodchild was granted the domestic violence order against his former girlfriend.

He told Darwin Magistrates Court the woman was trying to hunt him down and threatening to "cut his penis off''. The unusual application caused laughter in the courtroom.

But Mr Goodchild -- who was shaking and carrying two backpacks during the hearing -- said he had been in hiding in the long grass from his ex since she had "bashed'' him up.

"I'm pretty scared,'' he said. Mr Goodchild (pictured leaving the court with his DVO) told the court he went out with her for four years.

Magistrate Greg Cavanagh made him take an oath in court on the Bible to swear he was telling the truth. "You didn't make it up?'' the magistrate asked.

    "No,'' Mr Goodchild said.

Mr Cavanagh told Mr Goodchild he could only grant an interim domestic violence order -- preventing his ex-girlfriend from approaching or threatening him -- as she was not in court to answer to the case.

Mr Cavanagh adjourned the case for two weeks to give NT police time to serve her with the order.

Mr Goodchild thanked the magistrate and quickly left the courthouse, still clutching the order to his chest as he walked through Darwin's CBD.

This judge should be bladdy well be reprimanded for that....

This is a real issue, a mate of mine left his wife due to domestic violence.

Part of the problem is the men who feel that they cannot admit to being victims of violence or admit to being scared of women.

It didn't say if his wife was Thai or not. I'm asuming that she is and lives near or keeps ducks!

The worst story I heard (probably urban myth) is where the thai wife drugs the guy and chops off his todger then stands outside with his member tied by a piece of string to a large hellium balloon. Then as the guy wakes up and comes screaming outside she just lets go of the balloon letting him watch his best man float off intom the distance!

I don't understand the order. If she gets close to him, she's committing a crime, right? But if she gets close to him, she'll cut off his penis (according to him & the article). So, how does the order help him? If he's scared enough to have been holing up in long grass, what good will a piece of paper do?

    Steady on Mr Testestorone.. !!!!

Every thai woman I have met has delighted in describing what they would do to a cheating boyfriend/husbaand/Gik. Lets not beat around the bush this includes the misus' of some of the posters here.

Now it might be my insanity but it seems overly easy to go from kissy kissy to jai rawn mak!! for thai ladies and if you have had a few beers .... well you could wake up with some missing duck food.

Maybe it is all just sanook but .... are you willing to bet your gloowey on it ?

not after ALL the spats... just the more "serious" transgressions.
once went for ONE whole day without drinking, and TWO nights no sleep!
booked into a cheap hotel 'till she calmed down a bit.

I know what you talking about tsicar. Scary shit.
My first girl friend here > what an experience. Come home on night and she was carving up the dining room chair she was sitting on with a dagger.
Another time I come home and could not find her downstairs, went into the bedroom turned the light on and there was just a bare mattress with a 12 inch knife sticking out of the centre of it. I piled my drums and my stereo into the car and never returned. Realy scared the fcuk out of me.
Could never live with a woman like that again, but then again I am better behaved with this new lady.

most guys married to thai women will have heard threats like these, did not need the forum to find out about it..
and most thai women i know of, never bother to read a newspaper.
maybe i do not get to meet thai women that read, but i do not frequent bars in thailand, nor hang out with bargirls, etc. just never met one who was interested in reading anything but a thai comic book.
