A British Airways Boeing 747-400, registration G-CIVY performing flight BA-10 from Sydney,NS (Australia) to Bangkok (Thailand) and further on to London Heathrow,EN (UK), struck multiple birds while landing in Bangkok.
No injuries occured, however the fuselage received significant damage.
The onward flight to London (scheduled to depart Jan 6th just past midnight) had to be cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
G-CIVY was ferried to British Airways' maintenance base at Cardiff on Jan 8th at a maximum cruise level of FL260 (to reduce strain on the fuselage due to compression at higher flight levels).
