The underlying shackle is that many US workers the health cover is a reason to accept poor pay and conditions as access to Drs costs and many with pre existing struggle.
Wonder if safety will improve with a coerced disgruntled workforce.

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing after its pilot died on board.
The Turkish Airlines flight from Seattle to Istanbul was diverted to New York after the man lost consciousness shortly after take-off.
The crew gave the 59-year-old emergency treatment on board and tried to revive him, but he died before the aircraft landed.
It is believed the co-pilot safely landed the plane.
Flight tracking data showed the Airbus A350 took off from Seattle on Tuesday night before flying north over Canada.
However, it then abruptly diverted south and landed at John F Kennedy International Airport just before 6am local time on Wednesday.
The airline named the captain as Ilcehin Pehlivan.

Accidents are only reported because of their rarity. The big airlines had to spend money on maintenance during two years of Covid.
Suddenly, they began carrying paying passengers again and tried to recoup their losses immediately. Covid ended and airlineprices went through the roof. When will competition force prices down again?

A prolonged delay will erode confidence , new orders and credit lines, but to accede may make price point unviable against Airbus.
Skilled workers cannot be obtained quickly and if lost forever a headache. My step sisters ex spent 3 years training for B Aerospace before moving to Boeing Seattle long ago, but I doubt the apprenticeship is much shorter with all the newer technology,health and safety that quite rightly prevalent.
I cannot imagine any US regime allowing it's main aircraft manufacturer to fail, but subsidy of either workforce salary or management won't be popular with taxpayers. Trump I imagine woud insist US based airlines go American but in the global market many Aircraft are leased for mainly fiscal reasons .

Airbus is ahead and the huge Chinese market may be eroded by domestic production in due course. While quality uncertain , like their tvs and cars may well appeal to poorer nations in the BRICS

HCM CITY — Bamboo Airways has announced the resumption of its flights between Hồ Chí Minh City and Bangkok, Thailand, next month, marking its first international flight after a one-year hiatus due to financial challenges.
The carrier will operate one daily round-trip flight between the two cities starting on November 26.
The flight will depart from HCM City's Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport at 11:15am and arrive at Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport at 2pm.
Tickets are currently available for purchase, with round-trip fares starting at VNĐ3.56 million (US$143), as announced on the airline's Facebook page.
Bamboo Airways initially launched the HCM City to Bangkok route in April 2022 and the Hà Nội to Bangkok route in March 2023. At that time, flights were routed to Bangkok’s larger Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Bamboo Airways previously had a broad flight network across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and Australia.

Singapore scrambles fighter jets after bomb threat on Air India Express flight
The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) scrambled F-15SG jets on Tuesday night (Oct 15) after a bomb threat on an Air India Express flight.
The airline had received an email that there was a bomb on board flight AXB684 that was bound for Singapore, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said in a Facebook post.
Two F-15SG jets escorted the plane away from populated areas and it touched down at Changi Airport at around 10.04pm, more than an hour after it was due to land.
"Our Ground Based Air Defence systems and Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were also activated. Once on the ground, the plane was handed to the Airport Police," Dr Ng said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
"Many thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team that keep us safe in our homes, even when threats exist around us."
Air India Express is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India and a part of the Tata group.
Flight AXB684 took off from Madurai at about 1.54pm and was due to land in Singapore at about 8.50pm, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24.
It was one of several flights taking off from India that were disrupted on Monday and Tuesday due to bomb threats, media outlets in India reported.
An Air India Express flight from Ayodhya to Bengaluru also received a hoax bomb threat on Tuesday, according to NDTV.
One Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing at Iqaluit Airport in Canada after a "security threat" was posted online, the airline said.
The aircraft and passengers were "rescreened as per the laid down security protocol".
“Air India notes that it, and other local airlines, have been subject to a number of threats in recent days," it added.
Similar hoaxes were received by India's low-cost airline IndiGo for two flights from Mumbai on Monday – one to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and another to Muscat in Oman, according to media outlets in India.
NDTV reported that a SpiceJet flight SG116 from Darbhanga to Mumbai and an Akasa Air flight QP1373 from Bagdogra to Bengaluru also received bomb threats on Tuesday.
