Thread: Fishy story? Nope, that's a load of bollocks

A guy who lives at Lake Conroe (50 miles north of Houston ) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange in the lake and went to

investigate.

It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!!

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface.

The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish.




Now isn’t that the biggest load of bollocks you’ve ever heard?

Look's like something dirtydog would have done for a laugh as a kid.... the old pump a ball up inside a catfish's mouth and watch it float trick ..

Maybe the catfish saw one of those porpoise shows and wanted to give it a try.

Some of the fishing parks in Bangkok have catfish up to 200 kg in size. No problem for a fish that size to fit a ball in its mouth. Would have to be bloody hungry though .

Snopes stated it was an urban legend that the Newlywed Game had an episode involving anal sex reference. I argued with my friends that I had seen the episode; but alas, Snopes is Snopes, and I am a former pothead...

until a video surfaced on the net...including the "punchline" that I had told my friends a few years earlier. Snopes has since made the correction.

Now these friends shun me, for I had the audacity to find fault with Snopes.

and also because I am an arroogant, pompous, self-righteous bore.

No joke or BS, the catfish can be really big and they have a huge mouth.

Like I said. "SOMEONE"'s telling porkies. Maybe this article. Maybe Snopes. Maybe both.

My belief is that they are probably both.

I think these photos would be too easy to stage to believe without a doubt that they could be real..

There are catfish that are seven feet long. That's not an NBA ball its just a little kids basketball which is half the size and only cheap rubber. JEez!
